Day 9: The Little Airhead Duo.
I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO WEAR OR DO, so I just sat on my bed knowing fully well that I had only seventeen more minutes until I had to be on the balcony to meet with Tom.
Honestly, I was beginning to think I shouldn't do this even though I needed to. It was meant to just be a simple apology, a heart felt one, but putting away my pride and actually saying a not sarcastic 'sorry' to someone whom I now consider my best guy friend, was a lot of pressure on me.
Especially with no moral support.
My mother would say, I'm glad you were finally able to put away your pride and do the right thing. My father would say, Good girl, as long as there is nothing sexual going on between you two, then go for it.
I'd put all my pride away for now, then gain it all back when I'm about to slap Ashton Dickinson right in his perfectly stupid face.
His face looked so punchable.
I think over the days, I realised my worth and how to control my hormones. I still remember how I first felt around Tom, having those stupid butterflies. It only told me how much of a typical hormonal teenage girl I was, and to say the least, I was disappointed in myself. Like, how could I be that creepy? Or was I really that desperate for a boyfriend? Ew.
I left my hair down and got dressed in my blue sweatshirt and leggings. I pared it up with flip flops (as per usual) and put on a little lip gloss.
If not for me and my over dramatic ass, this wouldn't be happening.
My phone vibrated the second I grabbed the door. I picked it up from my bed and swiped across it without looking at who was calling me.
"Ava?" Riley's voice said through the phone. I furrowed my eyebrows and checked the name on the screen, it was an unknown number.
"Um. . ."
"Shh," she hissed. "Before you ask any questions, I got your number from Lillian. She's a bit skeptical about my intentions, but trust me that's not it. So if she rants to you, know it's because of how distant I've been acting. I only made time to spend with her yesterday."
"Okay? Riley, if you hurt her -"
"Just how low do you think of me?" She huffed. "As you know, Lillian's birthday is coming up and I want to give her a surprise. I'm torn, honestly. I have no idea what to get her! She keeps talking about food, but I want to get her something more."
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. I did not forget my best friend's birthday was next week. What would I even get her? Gosh, and to think like that of Riley.
"Riley, Lilli's a hopeless romantic. Take her on a nice hot air balloon ride," she would love that, honestly, but that was a little bit too extravagant, even for her.
"How much will that cost?" I blinked at her words. She was actually considering that?
"Well, I don't know, no one's ever done that for me, I was only bluffing! Okay, how about dinner date. With all her favourite meals and- oh! I have the best idea!"
"Spill."
"Take her on a dinner date, all her favourite meals and everything," I started, but Riley didn't let me finish.
"That's it?"
"No, you dummy. You know how she hasn't seen her mother in months?" I asked, biting my lip in anticipation.
