I walked onto the sidewalk. My belly growled from being empty. I rushed down the street to at least find a local McDonald's. I yelp when I feel my phone buzz in my pocket. The name Elijah appears as the caller ID. I quickly answer to hear Elijah's deep morning voice. We've been talking for nine weeks. After our meeting in my job, Elijah informed me that he would be out of town for a some weeks. Since then we've been FaceTiming and texting nonstop. We see each other from here and there but we've never went a date .... yet.

"Hey, Jada."

"Hey Elijah." I walk off to the side, not blocking anyone.

"I think I saw you walking down the street." My eyes widen. He's in New York already?

"You did." I search around the street to find him.

"I'm on my way back." I see his car, pull up to me. I laugh seeing him smile at me. Brown highlighted specks pulled into a bun on his head, flies swiftly in the wind.

"Elijah," I yelled

"Elijah," I yelled. He got out of the car, gesturing for me to get inside. I sit inside and watch others make faces at us.

"When did you get back?" I question, buckling myself in. Elijah grabs the back of my seat to look back. His predominantly veiny arms grip the wheel as his face focuses on the cars behind him. His jaw grabs my main attention causing me gulp and stare away.

"Where did you get this?"

"My father had it and gave it to me before he died." Instantly feel bad for asking. I was so hesitant to speak up. "I'm sorry for asking and I'm sorry about your lost." He furrows his eyebrows and shakes his head. "No. It's fine. He was a good man." It was quiet for while before I think of another topic to speak on.

My fingers glide against the black leather stitching. "Fuck, this is amazing."

"Right," he chuckled. My belly rumbles loudly, making me want to curl up into a ball.

"Jada, Are you hungry?" I nod. "I was gonna head home anyway. Let's get you some food."

"Elijah it's fine. I'm ok." He frowns.

"Jada, you're my company. So, I'm gonna get you food," he ordered. I nod and smile.

He drives off, causing the wind to move through my curly hair. His arms flex in his white dress shirt. "Where were you?" I asked, bitting my lip.

"I went to a meeting," he says, placing his arm behind my seat.

"Well, Elijah. Tell me more about yourself."

"Well you know I have a daughter." My heart skips a beat. I've never meet a man who had children. To hear him mention it every time makes my heart drop. Elijah pauses and looks at my reaction before focusing on the rode.
