I'm going to start adding the date to these so:
December 3, 2020"Alright, I need someone to get Percy to the cabins, that's where it'll happen." Annabeth said to the group of four demigods and Chiron.
"We can do that for you," Travis said, looking to see if Connor agreed.
"Definitely," Conner said, "I can work with that." He rubbed his hands together and Leo looked at him skeptically.
Leo spoke, still eyeing Conner, "I'll be there when, whatever plan these two are cooking up, fails."
"Hey!" Connor turned to Leo and they were caught in a staring contest until Annabeth cleared her throat to get everyone's attention.
"Okay, Travis and Connor will get Percy to the cabins. Leo will intervene if, and when, Percy doesn't believe you two." She clapped her hands to signal the end of the meeting. "Thank you, everyone."
"Hey Percy." Travis sat down across from Percy at the Posiedon table.
"What's up Travis? Where's Thing 2?"
"Hey, why do I have to be Thing 2?" Conner slid onto the bench next to Connor."
Travis didn't look away from Percy but spoke quietly to Connor, "because I'm older." He returned the conversation to Percy, "anyway, Percy, come with us."
"No." No one said anything and Percy gave in. "Where?"
"We just want to show you something at the cabins."
"I'm not going anyway with you two, do you know how many things I can think of right now that you might do to me, and you probably thought of more! No way that's happening." He folded his arms across his chest.
"Hey peeps, how's it going?" Leo walked up to the table and sat beside Percy, way too overly enthusiastic.
Connor kicked Leo's foot underneath the table, a little peeved that Leo had to save the mission.
Percy looked between them. "Okay, what's going on here?"
All three of them spoke in unison, "nothing."
"Alright, something's definitely going on here, can somebody please tell me what it is?"
COnnor opened his mouth to speak but Leo kicked his shin and interrupted him before he could. "I don't know what these two are doing, but I wanted to show you something cool I just made. It's just in my cabin, I think you'll really enjoy it."
Connor glared at Leo.
"Oh, well, okay, I'd love to see your invention." Percy got up to leave and as soon as he turned away from the table Connor stuck his tongue out at Leo, Leo returned the gesture before putting on a smile for Percy and leading him away from the table.
Travis watched Connor as the two walked away, Connor never moved his eyesight off of them. When they left the dining pavilion Travis nudged Connor and smirked at him.
"What?"
Travis shrugged, his smirk grew into a smile that seemed to take up his whole face, he couldn't help it. "Nothing." He got up and started walking away so he wouldn't be tempted to say anything else.
Connor followed him, asking about what the look meant for the rest of the meal.
Leo led Percy towards the cabins. "Hey, so I was thinking, we should IM Frank, Hazel, and Reyna, we could play a game where they wouldn't have to physically be here. Maybe not tonight though, because everyone has said they're really tired."
"Yeah, totally, I love that idea. Any games in mind?"
"Maybe something like Would You Rather?"
"Ooh, I love that game." Percy slung an arm around Leo's shoulders and they continued walking like that to the cabins in a comfortable silence, both thinking about how much they missed their friends at Camp Jupiter.
As they neared the cabins Leo saw Annabeth pressed tightly against one of the cabins, desperately trying not to be seen by Percy. Someone else was with her too, they were blocked from view though because Annabeth was in front of them.
"Hey!" Leo yelled way too loud because he was standing right beside Percy. "Um... the invention, I'm sure you'll love it, it's pretty cool."
Percy smiled reassuringly, just in case this was actually true, but he didn't really believe Leo had anything to show him at all.
Leo moved a bit so Percy's arm fell from his shoulders naturally.
"Hey Perce," someone said in passing.
Percy looked up from the ground while he said, "hey," in response. When he saw who it was he had to do a double-take, it was Grover. How could Grover even be here, what happened to the pandemic?
"Grover? What— How—" Percy ran out of words.
Grover smiled at him, this was what he thought would happen. Besides, they don't need words when they have an empathy link, they could both feel the emotions from the other.
"I was stuck in the infirmary, quarentiing, got sent home because of the virus. I told them not to tell you I was here, I wanted it to be a surprise, Will just let me out of the infirmary."
Percy didn't know what to say, the only thing he could think to do was hug Grover. So that's what landed them on the ground in a bone-crushing hug.
"I missed you so much man. I'm happy you're following your dreams but why do they have to be so far away?" Grover shrugged in response, too happy to find the words.
They both didn't know how to articulate the love they felt for each other so it was a good thing that they had an empathy link.
Annbeth came out from behind the cabin, she had timed it so perfectly so she could see the look on Percy's face when he saw Grover. She didn't regret a single moment of the time spent planning this because the reward was just so good, that look on Percy's face.
They all talked, Leo and Annabeth eventually joined them on the ground. Connor and Trvais came around too, glad to see the plan itself worked out, still a little peeved that Percy was too skeptical to believe them.
Next update is going to be Would You Rather so if you have any ideas please comment them here. Please keep them to realistic things the demigods could do though, thanks 😉
