Chapter Four : Dance With Me
Days slowly went past by like leaves blown by the wind or flowers wilting in what used to be its prime glory. I couldn't sleep well due to how hyped up I was. I could just about imagine how awesome it would be or how we'd dance again just like the Blood Moon Ball. Good memories.
Except that time Tom shoved Marco away and got crazy. The nerve of the guy. Geez, at least show some decency.I snap out of my reverie when I feel a warm presence brush against my arms, making the hair around it prick. "You excited?"
I nod, a smile couldn't be contained any longer. I glanced as he adjusts his tie on one hand while his brows were furrowed. I silently chuckled, entertained by his struggle with the suit and how cute he actually looks right now.
I figured it was cue to leave so I sprung up from my seat, patting down the frilled dress Mrs. Diaz bought me at the store. It was very pretty with frills and a theme of pastel pink with all sorts of beads and glitters. It had puffs around my shoulders and my hair was tied up in a braid with a red ribbon holding it. Mrs. Diaz made sure to match my dress with Marco's tie. It was cute. We were matching alright.
He finally finishes with tying his tie, although slightly crooked, but nevertheless it looked alright. He smiles at me, eyeing me from head to toe. "You look stunning, Princess."
I cheekily grin, nudging him by the sides. "Likewise, Mr. Bad Boy Diaz."
"Ooh! Raphael get the camera!" Mrs. Diaz hollered, coming close to our direction with a wide grin.
She wraps her arms around us and then pats down some of Marco's stubborn locks of hair. She glances at us with a warm demeanor. "Oh! How lovely you two look. Just like a couple!"
I chuckled awkwardly, feeling my cheeks turn red. "We're just bestfriends. That's all. Friends going to the party, right Marco?"
I peered over at him for assistance and he turns to look at me, somehow smiling but there was something different about it. "Y-yeah. Stop assuming mom!"
"Oh, you look beautiful Star and my boy Marco!" Mr. Diaz finally appears after a few seconds from dashing towards the stairs with the camera to his hand. He smiles and then hands Mrs. Diaz the camera.
"Alright, stand closer to each other," she instructs, motioning her hand to guide us whilst the camera was now close to her eyes. I sheepishly take a step beside Marco and our shoulders bumped.
I chuckle. "Oops."
"Well, on the count of three say cheese!"
I flashed my widest grin and the camera's lights flash before my eyes with a click.
. . .
"The school sure had gone extra," Marco murmured under his breath, eyeing the interior of what used to be an enormous, boring gymnasium room now turned into a party room with a banner slung on top, welcoming every students entering.
The music was blaring against the speakers, a disco ball was held on top spinning as it flashed colors to the entire room, creating a warm and lovely ambience. The tables were scattered and a long table with refreshments and all sorts of junk was on the farthest corner. This looks amazing.
I looked in awe, my feet jumping in excitement while my gown bounced along with my movements. This is fun. I glanced back to Marco who in turn glanced at me.
"I'm getting hungry, wanna grab some food?"
I nod, keeping my smile at bay. "Well, off we go!"
