Falling Apart

Chapter 7:

Mia's P.O.V

I woke up in Ryland's arms feeling incredibly self conscious about what I had just said to Chase. But I was happy lying here in Ryland's arms because he didn't make me feel like a bad guy, he made me feel appreciated. I suddenly felt this overwhelming feeling of nausea and get up and run to my bathroom. I hear Ryland run after me and he holds my hair back while I throw up. After I finish throwing up, I felt his cold hands wrap around me and pick me up and take me back to my bedroom. I shivered at the touch of his freezing cold hands on mine. I felt my bed underneath my body and felt as the blankets on my bed being placed on top of me. Ryland leaves the room and comes back and sticks a thermometer in mouth. I hear him curse under his breath and doesn't say anything to me just sits next to me and holds me in his arms. I fall asleep for about 5 minutes and then wake up with aching pains and my body shivering. Ryland picks up his phone and calls who I think is 911.

"Hi, my girlfriend has a 103.2 degree fever, is in uncomfortable pain and is shaking."

"Sir, please give us your address and then we will send someone to pick her up"

"Ok its *insert address*" 

"Thank you sir, someone is on there way now. "

I hear Ryland place his phone down and then I feel him pick me up and swaddled me like I was a baby. He carried me all the way downstairs and waited for the ambulance to show up. Just before I'm about to pass out, I hear the blaring sirens of the ambulance and then the world around me goes black.

-Ryland's P.O.V-

"Mia?" 

I say and start crying. I can't lose her, even though I just met her she is the only thing in this world that makes me happy. As the ambulance arrives, I hand her to the paramedics and quickly get in my car and follow them. 

-Few hours later-

"Sir we have some news for you. You girlfriend has stage 3 lung cancer however by some small miracle we were able to save the baby.

"Wait did you say baby?" 

"Yes sir, were you too unaware of this?"

"We had no idea"

"She is awake now if you want to see her" 

I walked into Mia's room. God, she looked cute doing literally anything. 

"Mia's there's something I need to tell you."
