CHAPTER NINE
˖⋆࿐Rory had decided she wanted to take a bit of a break from social media. Since her live stream, she hadn't really been online almost at all. The only thing she did was post about her new song that would be coming out because her manager told her to. If it was up to Rory, she most likely would've delayed it until she felt comfortable again. Rory hoped that maybe the comments would be a bit nicer, but they only got worse and Rory had to turn comments off which she hated doing.
Luckily, Seán came through to cheer Rory up and invited her to play Party Animals with him and a few others. When he told her that Corpse was playing, Rory was hesitant because she knew they would be recording the session and she knew she'd get hate for being friends with him, but she enjoyed his company too much to care what they thought of it.
"Wait, whose team am I on?" Rory asked once they loaded the game up. They decided to start the session off with a team game and Rory wasn't sure who she was with.
"You're with me and PJ," Felix said as they began picking what party animal they wanted to be.
"I'm gonna be a dog," PJ said as he secured his choice. Both Felix and Rory changed to the labrador to match. The rival team decided on being cats.
"I'm good with being a cat," Seán said. "We're the meowfia."
Rory laughed at the joke as the game started up. She hadn't said anything directly to Corpse yet because she wasn't exactly sure what to say. She figured as the game went on she'd think of something.
"Let's go!" Seán exclaimed. The goal was to grab the gummy candy pieces and get them into their team's territory. The other team had to stop them and take the candy pieces for themselves. It was simple enough, but for this group of friends, it was far from it.
"Rory! That's the wrong one," PJ laughed as Rory accidentally pulled the lever to the other teams compartment.
"Oh shit," Rory replied as they all watched the blue teams points go up.
"Thanks, Rory!" Seán giggled.
"Uh, yeah, I— uh, meant to do that."
"Sure you did," Felix replied as everyone kept laughing. Rory could hear Corpse laughing too, making her heart flutter for some reason.
"Are you laughing at me, Corpse?" Rory asked, raising her eyebrow, not that he could see her. They could practically hear the smirk on her face.
"No, no, I'm laughing with you," He replied in between laughs.
"Sure, Corpsey," Rory giggled just before stealing the giant green gummy off of him and running away.
The group continued the round and finally the red team were crowned the winners. Despite Rory accidentally giving points to the other team, they still managed to win. They decided to play a few more rounds before calling it a day as they were all getting pretty tired.
Rory found herself deciding which party animal she wanted to play as.
"So our dropper, Corpse, is on our side," Seán said, breaking the silence as they waited for the game to start. It was quiet for a moment before Rory let out a burst of laughter, encouraging the others to join in. "No, I'm not saying that as a jab. Last time you asked," Seán tried to explain which only made the others laugh more.
