Ferit POV

I am unable to reign in my temper and just want to be left alone. I take a sip of whiskey to calm myself. As I close my eyes to gather my thoughts, I hear a familiar voice "Ferit.." . My body involuntarily shudders as I feel this voice coming somewhere from within. My anger gives way to a gut wrenching fear. Somehow I can't help the feeling of something going terribly wrong.

I keep my glass of whiskey down and call my secretary Mrs Iqbal. I give her several instructions to deal with todays disruption. Then I call Fatosh."Hello Fatosh, Did you hear anything from Nazli yet? I ask her.

"Hi Ferit.. No.. nothing yet. This is so unlike her. She always shares everything with me". She says

"Do you know where she was going from the restaurant?" I question again.

"She was supposed to check some kind of fish in the market before coming home. The market should be closed by now. I am really worried Ferit. Did she really go somewhere else?" She says.

'I hope not', I keep my thoughts to myself and ask " Please send me the address for this market..  and Fatosh.. call me in case you hear anything.. ok.. ?"  I disconnect the call.

When I hear the message beep, without further adieu I take my car keys and head out of my apartment.

The market is a big building and the shutters are down. There is a solitary guard, who seeing me  approaches  " Sir, this is closed for today. Will open again tomorrow morning at 7.00 AM"

"Did you see any girl coming here today in the afternoon? I ask.

"Sorry sir, I am here for the evening shift. But lots of people come and go in the afternoon and it may be hard to say".

I am about to turn back when something in the ground catches my eye. I go closer  and bend down to inspect , when I realize its a scarf . I pick it up and a sudden chill goes through my body when I recognize the same blue patterns which Nazli wears so often. I rush back to the guard   "You need to open the door now".

"Sorry, I cannot open this.. Please sir."  I am loosing my patience and anger seize me when I hold tightly to his collars and threaten him. He is visibly intimidated and blabbers " Please calm down sir, I am calling my boss." I loosen my grip and I see him timidly taking out his phone and dialing.

"Sir, we need to wait for sometime, my boss is coming with the master keys".

After about 30 mins which seemed like ages to me, I see another man coming towards us.

We all enter the building together. It is not totally dark inside. It is dimly lit from the late afternoon sun. "Nazli.. Nazli" I shout, but only my own voice echoes back. "There is another door leading to the freezer where all the sea food are stored" . The other man says. "Open that as well" I demand. He hurriedly opens the freezer door and we enter.

My whole world collapse by the sight before me. "Nazli!" I scream and rush inside. She is lying on the floor, pale , too pale. I am down on the floor and pull her to my lap. "Nazli.. can you hear me? I am here ..baby.. wake up". She is too cold and doesn't seem to be breathing at all. I bring my ears close to her chest and  can hear a faint heart beat. She is breathing.. thank God! But too shallow.

"Sir we need to take her to the hospital now", the man behind me says. I wake up from my shock and pull her closer and after lifting her in my arms, start pacing towards the exit. I keep calling her name trying to wake her up till we reach my car door. The men help me to get her inside the back seat safely and I rush to the driver seat. I am driving like a maniac and not sure if I have skipped any red signals on the way. After reaching the hospital , I jump out and open the back doors and shout outside the emergency area " Help!" There are a flurry of activities and nurses and emergency doctors promptly come to our aid. "She was stuck in the freezer for couple of hours. She is very cold" I tell them. They put an oxygen mask on her and move her inside while I hold her hands. Once inside, they wheel her towards the emergency wing. "Sir, you need to wait here" One of the nurses tells me blocking me from entering the door. "I can't leave her, She needs me". "We will do our best, please wait here" Saying that she closes the door in front of me and I can feel my vision getting blurred with some unshed tears.

I move back to the waiting area and allow myself to sit. I call Engin and fill him with the details. I try my best to mask the tremor in my voice.

"I am coming brother. It will be fine" He says and I end the call.
