Chapter 5

Flashback: Camelot - Six Weeks Ago...

Calista and Regina were in the woods with David and Mary Margaret. David, Lancelot and Mary Magaret had worked together to figure out if Arthur could be trusted or not, both of them came back without Lancelot.

Calista sighed, "You really think the dagger to Arthur is the best way to help Emma?" Calista questioned.

"We trust him," Mary Margaret said.

"Implicitly," David said.

"Did you learn those big words at shepherd school? How do you know you can trust him?" Regina asked.

"Because we're good judges of character and we would never act against Emma's best interest," David said.

Regina and Calista looked at each other then Regina led them towards a tree stump.

"Is the dagger in there?" Mary Margaret asked.

Regina pulled the dagger from the tree stump she led them to and sighed, "Are you sure handing the one thing that can control your daughter over to Arthur is the right thing to do?" Regina asked.

"Have you lost the power of comprehension? Hand over the da-" Mary Margaret began to say but was cut off, she and David were frozen in place by Emma who was walking up.

"What are you doing?" Calisa asked.

"When did you get so liberal with dark magic?" Regina asked.

"No choice. Arthur has them under some kind of spell. He wants them to bring him the dagger. He wants to reunite it with Excalibur," Emma said.

"Unite it?" Regina and Calista said in unison.

"It was once one blade. It was broken in half a long, long time ago," Emma told them.

"What happens when they're together?" Regina asked.

"He wants to kill Merlin with it. I don't have to tell you both how bad that would be for all of us," Emma said

"How do you know this? How do I know this isn't the darkness in you rearing its head?" Regina asked.

"It's true. We don't have a lot of time. Arthur's expecting them soon," Emma said.

"He's the king. So, you want to take on all of Camelot," Regina said.

"I want to free Merlin first. Then I can help my parents and stop Arthur," Emma said.

"That's a great plan, but we have no idea who to get him out of the tree," Calista said.

"Regina already said it... Dark magic," Emma said.

"No, you can't keep using it," Regina said.

"Regina's right, Emma... If you keep using it, you'll get attached to it and then you'll become like Rumpel," Calista said.
