It was a nice day of summer in Academy City. School would start in a few weeks and everyone would take it easy.

That is, everyone except a certain group of newly enrolled students.

Just a bunch of kids, of course, around 6 years old or something, but they were holding incredible potential. Or at least that's what System Scan said.

"Can you believe it you guys?!" Started Kyomoko, a brunette 6-years-old walking down one of the roads of the city with a couple of friends. "We were accepted just not long ago and today we got our scan results! What are your abilities?" She asked with a light of excitement in her eyes.

"The scanners say I am a level 1 telepath. Apparently I have the ability to connect with monotremes' minds." Was Tsururu's answer.

"Monotremes?"

"Yeah like platypuses and echidnas. Egg-laying mammals. It's not flashy, but it's rare, so I feel special in a way." Explained the girl, with a sincere smile her father would die to see.

"Egg laying mammals? Yeah, you're not gonna use it too much, but it does sound rare!"

The two girls were friends since they were born, basically. Their families lived next to each other so they used to meet very often. Same goes for Wamamo, the young boy that was walking next to them with a distant look. He was usually a talkative person, but that day he was oddly quiet.

"What about your ability?" Tsururu nudged gently Kyomoko with her elbow, encouraging her to speak.

"Oh, I have Thermoskin."

"That sounds fancy!"

"No..." was the embarrassed answer, "it just means my skin is like a thermometer. I can calculate the temperature of anything I touch with my skin, based on the average kinetic energy of the particles. It doesn't give me any special power though." Kyomoko was still excited about that, even though her ability was not the most incredible one. She was just happy that, somehow, her brain was able to subconsciously elaborate kinetic energy.

"So, like, what is the temperature right now?" Tsururu wanted to test her friend's ability.

"I'd say..." Kyomoko took a bit of time to concentrate, "310 Kelvin, more or less. I can only get the measurements in Kelvin for now, I still haven't learned about the conversions haha!"

310 K is close to 37 degrees Celsius, or 98 Fahrenheit. The girls didn't know yet, though.

Wamamo was still staring at nothing, wrinkles around his eyes showed concern, or shock.

"Wamamo! What's your ability? Did you get any at all? You're oddly quiet."

He stopped in his steps. So did the girls one second later, curiously glaring at their old friend.

Wamamo slowly turned his eyes towards his friends, then turned his head with the same, scaring, slowness. He opened his mouth.

"I... am..." the rest was not intelligible.

"What?" Insisted the girls in unison.

"I am God." Was Wamamo's answer. He was as serious as he could possibly be. He truly looked like he held incredible power.

Wamamo turned his gaze at his left hand, as if he was holding something in it.

"What... do you mean?"

"I am God." The voice was so cold Kyomoko could almost feel as if the temperature dropped to 308 kelvin.

"You must be incredibly strong to say that!" Exclaimed Tsururu.

"How is your ability called?" Said the other girl, gulping.

"I am God. That's the name of my ability."

What could that ability allow him to do?! Something with such a name should probably be feared. Could he bend space-time? Was he able to change the laws of physics? Maybe he had an ability that would allow a manipulation of reality with even more freedom than the Number 1 of Academy City?

"So... Wamamo, what does that ability allow you to do?"

Wamamo kept staring at his hand. The three of them were holding their breaths, Tsururu's heart skipped a beat. The boy spoke: "It makes me say 'I am God' with such seriousness that anyone would believe me."

Somewhere in Academy City, in that moment, there was a scientist that was laughing his butt off at the thought the council of directors would allow him to name such a silly ability with a scary name.

Author's note: this is my first idea. It just kinda popped in my head, while I was thinking about some overpowered characters in various anime. It just came to me: "what if one was so powerful they could say they are God? Wait. What if saying that they're God was their only power?"
My idea with this first chapter was to build tension. I wanted to train that side of my writing. But I also like to break the tension, as I always found it amusing in media.

All in all, I hope you felt a bit tense, and then found the truth amusing as much as I did. I welcome constructive criticism anyway!

See you next time, thanks for reading!
