"Y/n?"

"Peter?" I lean my head against the palm of my hand, doodling on my chem homework.

"What's your favorite color?" I spin my chair around.

"What?"

"What's your favorite color?" He repeated.

"Why do you ask?" I cocked an eyebrow, staring at him curiously. He shrugged, blushing.

"I dunno," He said. "I just... I've been living in your bedroom for a whole week and I feel like I don't know you." I laughed. "I'm just saying, y/n, you know so much about my life, so unfair advantage." He made a good point.

"Okay, I'll humor you. My favorite color is purple."

"Purple?"

"Mhm." I responded absentmindedly, turning back to my homework.

"Who's your favorite superhero?" He asked, and I laughed, spinning around again.

"Do you want me to say you?" Peter grinned.

"It's a simple question, y/n." I suppressed a grin.

"Captain America, if you must know." I answered casually, even though I knew it wasn't the truth. It was actually Spiderman, but I wasn't going to tell him that. Peter nodded sagely.

"I understand that," He admitted. "Okay, where do you go to high school?" I laughed.

"What is this, 20 questions?"

"Come on, y/n, please?" Peter whined. I rolled my eyes.

"It's like the Midtown equivalent."

"Huh. So you're smart, then?" He asked, and I nodded, grinning. "Guess I picked the right house to travel to." I scoffed.

"Ha," I said with a laugh. "You're real cute, Peter." Peter blushed as I blanched with realization.

Crap. Maybe I shouldn't have used the word cute.

Peter and I sat awkwardly for a moment, not sure what to say, before hearing the front door unlocking. My eyes quickly made its way to my door before looking back at Peter, whose eyes were wide and filled with fear.

"Get in the closet!" I whispered harshly, and he did as I said, closing the door behind him. I left my room, shutting the door in case Peter decided to come out. "Hello?" I called, hearing the rattling of keys.

"Hey, honey!" My mom's cheery voice travelled from downstairs. I sighed with relief, my heart rate starting to slow.

"Hey, Mom." I clambered down the steps, my mom's body coming into view. She smiled at me as she took off her coat.

"How was school?"

"It was good." I responded with a tight lipped smile. She gave me a kiss on the forehead before taking off her shoes. A clunking noise from upstairs made my heart drop as I looked upward, hoping - praying - that my mom didn't hear it.

"What was that?" She asked, her brows furrowed. "Are Cady and Julie over?" I shook my head, my heart going beating than ever.

"No... it was probably just my bag or something." I said quickly, trying to sound as convincing as possible. She nodded, seeming to take this answer. I cleared my throat. "Okay, well, I have a little more homework to do, so..." I turned towards the staircase.

"Okay, honey. I'll call you for dinner, alright?" She questioned, and I nodded, quickly running up the stairs, shutting my bedroom door behind me as I sprinted inside.

I opened the closet to see Peter crouching on the ground, holding something that had fallen over on him.

"...Oops." He said sheepishly, and I frowned at him, furrowing my brows.

"Peter, are you kidding me? You have to be more careful." I said, letting him pass me to sit on the beanbag chair in the corner of my room.

"Sorry, y/n, it was a total accident." He apologized, staring down at his hands. "Did your mom hear anything?"

"Yeah, she did, but I covered flawlessly." I said, my tone rigid. Peter raised an eyebrow and I frowned. "Okay, so maybe it wasn't flawlessly, but I covered and she believed it, and I'd calls that a win." I admitted, and Peter grinned.

"That's what I thought." He said in a winning tone as I made my way towards my desk.

"Look, anyways - woah!" I tripped over a shoe I left on the ground which sent me tumbling down towards the floor.

I closed my eyes, preparing to smack against the ground, but felt a firm grip stop me right before my head hit the floor. I opened my eyes slowly, seeing Peter's arms around me.

We stared at each other for a second, not wanting to move. We were so close, I could hear his heart beating.

He's not real.

I cleared my throat, making Peter let go of me once I had found my balance. He coughed, his face red, clearly embarrassed.

"Thanks," I said. He nodded, not making eye contact. Neither one of us said anything, but stood on opposite sides of my bedroom. "Okay, we should probably work out the plan for tomorrow."

"Yeah, that's probably a good idea." Peter said, though he didn't come closer.

"...Okay," I said carefully. "Let's get to work."

(A/N: So sorry for not updating for few days! I've been really busy with school and stuff but I promise to start posting more)
