"Mom, you can't just take me away!" I said, angered. Shoji was upstairs, cleaning while my mom and I argued.
She had tears in her eyes as she screams.
"It's hard enough that I'm always away. Please, I can't take it when you're getting hurt like this!"
I rubbed my eyes and tried to calm down.
"Mom, I know where you're coming from and I understand. I wish you could do the same for me. But I'm starting to make actual friends here, after years and years of being alone."
I was mad, but I was in the right state of mind.
"Sweetie, you have bruises and wounds all over you." Her eyes scanned my body for more and I shied away.
"I know you want to be a hero... to prove your father wrong-"
No, this isn't just about father! Mom, I want to be a hero! I want to save people and I want to make friends. I want to finally have a normal life, mom." I begged her.
Encounter with villains are things we won't be able to avoid. As more heroes are born, more villains are created.
That's just the way things are.
My mother and I sat there in silence, crying.
"You have three weeks to prepare and say good bye. We're going to leave soon."
I gasped.
"Mother-"
Shoji came from behind and touched the top of my head, making my body feel all weak. I had trouble standing up and I felt numb.
"Calm down, Yona. You're both angry and might say things you don't mean to." My head was aching. Shoji was using his quirk.
My body fell onto his and he caught me onto his arms. More tears fell from my eyes.
Shit, I don't want to cry anymore.
"Please, Shoji. I can't live like that anymore." That last thing I saw was my mother walking upstairs.
_ _
"Wake up. Time for school, Yona." Shoji shook my body awake and I nod. "I'll be up in a few minutes." I could hear shuffling and the door closing.
"I'm leaving. Again." I got up and showered, getting ready for school. I put on my uniform and fixed my hair, trying to make it look like I haven't been crying all night.
I headed downstairs, only to be met by may maids. "Here's your breakfast, Ms. Yona. Your mother left early for her work, but Shoji is here. If you need anything, please let us know." I gave the lady a smile and took the tray of food.
"Thank you so much." Shoji was sitting on the couch behind her, reading a newspaper.
I was a little upset at Shoji last night, but I knew he had to do it.
"Morning, Shoji." I pulled up a chair in the dining table, followed by Shoji. He sat down on the opposite side.
"How are you feeling, Ms. Yona?" I sighed and placed my spoon down.
"Like absolute garbage, Shoji. I was finally warming up here and she decides to take that away from me. I can't continue living like the way I did before, Shoji. I like it here, finally."
Shoji nods.
"I understand, but your mother cares for you and she's just very sacred you're going to get hurt. It pains her to see you all bruised and beaten up. You could've been killed."
