He did leap over one of them. Which caused the ninjas to chase him to do the same thing. One ninja didn't make it and he got run over.
They were running with their swords out and ready for Raizo. So, he decided to stop a moving car flip around it and start fighting.

The first two guys he just had to go bare-handed. Punched one in the throat and ear. Punched the other one repeatedly in his chest plate so he could break it.
He grabbed a sword and kept going. He would roll and flip around when he needed to attack. The cars around him are swerving not knowing what the hell is going on.
