What's Love Like? A Naegami Story

Chapter Nine

     I turn in my paper, slowly placing it on the bears desk. I sigh, "come on luck.. Don't do me wrong today." I walk back over to my seat, looking around to see how many other people have finished. Togami's staring blankly at his test, and Asahina's asleep. Suddenly, among the silence, the bear groans, "hurry it up! I'm getting boreddddd!" Byakuya sighs, picking up his pencil and filling something in. He then gets up and walks to the front, probably turning his test in. "Is everyone done? This class is boring and I'm ready to be done with you guys." Monokuma says, stretching out his tiny legs. "Oh BTW, you guys have pretty large breaks between classes today, since it's like your first day." I look at my schedule. We have half an hour between classes, nice!

"Alrighty! Get out, I don't want to see your faces anymore!" Monokuma laughs before hopping right out of the room. Since I have a fairly long passing period, I head back to my dorm. I enter the room and jump up onto my bed. Togami then bursts in and aggressively flops to the floor, hiding his face in his hands. Worried, I walk over to him, and crouch at his side. I gently poke his cheek, no response. I poke again, no response. I poke aga- "Will you stop that?!" Togami turns to me and glares. I stand up and walk backwards, eventually falling onto my bed. "I'm sorry, I just wanted to know if you were okay.." I squeak, realising that Byakuya might not be a friend after all. He sighs, standing up and sitting back down on his bed. "I'm fine Naegi. Thanks for worrying about me though." He says, looking away from me. I smile, that's not a normal Byakuya response. He then grabs his book from his bedside table and lies down to read.

I was about to ask Byakuya some questions before I heard a knock at the door. I get up from my bed and walk over to the door, opening it slowly. It's Sayaka. I look over to Togami, who's looking right back at me. He raises an eyebrow and then looks back down at his book. "Hey Maizono! What's up?" I ask, trying to act cool by leaning against the door frame. "Oh, 'Koto! Come with me I have something I want to show you!" She yells excitedly before grabbing my hand and pulling me out of my dorm.

She leads me to what looks like a kitchen and plops me into a chair. "Look!" She points to a counter that has stuff like flour, eggs, and sugar on top of it. "Yes, what about it?" I ask, tilting my head to the side. "We can bake desserts, silly! I already checked with Mr. Kuma! He said it's fine!" Maizono says, clapping her hands together. I smile at the thought but I've never baked anything before. Messing up in front of Sayaka would be scary. "Hey, hey, hey!" Monokuma skips into the kitchen and jumps up onto the counter. "You guys are gonna be late! Three more minutes!" He laughs before disappearing. Crap!
