"Good Morning Ella. Want some pancakes?"
"Morning Cole. I would love some!" I say giving him a forced smile.
"How was your night?"
"It was alright. I couldn't sleep because of the time difference." I somewhat lie and also decide not to mention my encounter with Ace.
"Ah yeah I forgot about the time difference" Cole says handing me a plate of pancakes.
"Thank you" I tell him as I sit down.
A couple minutes later Ace strolls out of his room rubbing his eyes, shirtless. I almost choke on the pancakes as I eye his chiseled abs and beautiful tattoos.
"Oh hey man" Cole says, snapping me back to reality.
"Hey" Ace grumbles as he sits down across the table with his pancakes.
He looks up and his eyes meet mine causing him to scowl and glare at me. I look down at my pancakes ignoring his rude presence.
"Ella you got anything planned today?" Cole asks as he eats his pancakes.
"Actually yes. Lia and I hanging out."
"Oh that sounds fun. I forgot you guys haven't seen each other in years."
"Actually, she visited me a couple times" I say harshly.
Cole stops eating and I could feel Ace examining us.
"Look, I'm sorry I never came."
"You could have come but I know why you didn't. Your parents didn't let you, no need to deny it. I'm not that stupid Cole" I say as I walk into my room and shut the door.
"What was that dude?" I hear Ace ask.
"Nothing" Cole mumbles.
After I take a quick miserable shower,I brush my hair and as lucky as I am, I don't need to curl it since my hair is naturally curly.
I put on a white cropped spaghetti strap corset top and short denim jeans. I rarely ever wear makeup except for when I go to parties so I just put on some lip gloss. I slide on my white slip on vans as I grab my purse, phone and head out of my room. Cole and Ace are both sitting on the couch, watching TV as I walk out. Their heads both turn to look at me as soon as I shut my door. Cole gets up and walks over to me.
"Ella can we please talk?"
"Not right now, I have to go." He nods.
I look towards Ace and see his eyes moving up and down my body causing me to roll my eyes. I walk out of the apartment and into the elevator. As soon as I reach the parking lot, I see her.
"Ella!" She yells running over to me. We pull each other into a giant hug.
"We're back bitches!" She yells at the top of her lungs causing me to laugh. Lia is the tiny light I have in my life. She's always been there for me but even she doesn't know how worthless I see my life and myself.
"We're going to our favorite cafe and all our favorite stores!" She squeals as we get into her convertible.
"So how was Ace this morning?" Lia asks, wiggling her eyebrows as she continues sipping her coffee sitting in our favorite cafe which I haven't set foot in for three years.
"Why do we have to talk about him?" I groan.
"Because I am curious!" She says chucking.
"Well nothing happened with Ace this morning except for him glaring at me like his eyes could kill and then later on checking me out."
