"I swear I had no idea though. I didn't know he thought that the Astra I had been seeing was the same lost child. When we came here to this house tonight he told me the lost child was here; I knew Astra lived here but I thought maybe the lost child just knew Astra or her family somehow. I didn't know Astra was the lost child. Or is. I need to stop talking. Gellert's going to end me."
Credence stops talking just as fast as he started. Astra stands up next to Credence.
"Why would Grindelwald kill you? I mean yes I would love to beat you to a pulp for lying to me about your name and where you work or rather who you work for. But I could never see myself killing someone just for telling the truth. Despite everything, I still care deeply for you. Which upsets me even more. Besides; how do we know for sure I'm the missing child?"
Albus struggles to stand.
"That's what makes you different from just about everyone else, Astra. Despite your powers, you manage to keep your emotions in check but still find a way to see the good in even the worst people. As for your question; I knew your mother as you know and you are a carbon copy of her minus your eyes of course. But that won't be enough proof considering her absence. Back when the missing child was born, before she was taken away, we were able to determine some things about her. Like the fact that from the moment of birth her blood would hold the same properties as Daniela's; rapid healing of herself and anyone who intakes the blood. And I do happen to be injured terribly so if you'd like to put that theory to the test-"
Albus falls onto his knees, coughing again. This time there's blood. Astra, Newt and Tina rush over to help Albus up. They sit him in a chair. Newt speaks first.
"I don't understand; what happened?"
Albus laughs.
"A delayed reaction to Gellert's injury. Let's just say he's on his deathbed at the moment for some reason and a certain vow isn't too happy about it."
Tina looks over at Astra.
"She threw Grindelwald out the window earlier when he tried to kill me. I forgot we were on the second floor."
"But if what you say is true Albus and our Astra is the lost child and she heals you then Grindelwald will be healed too, won't he?"
Charlie questions.
Albus nods,
"Essentially, yes. That's why I'm leaving it up to her."
Without hesitation, Astra picks up a knife from dinner and cuts into her hand. She squeezes some blood into a glass and holds it out. Everyone stares at it but Newt is the one to take it. Albus holds up a hand.
"Astra, are you sure?"
She nods.
"As much as I'd like Grindelwald to die for killing my biological mother and wiping the memories of all my biological family, I can't lose you in the process. And I'm not even sure if it'll work but if it does then we can find a way to end him without ending your life as well. Now, bottoms up."
Newt tips the glass to Albus' lips and he drinks the blood. He sits for a moment as nothing happens. Then, with one last cough, he is healed completely.
"I don't believe it."
Newt whispers.
Astra looks at her hand as it slowly begins to heal itself.
"I guess that explains why you've never gotten sick. Or why anytime you got injured you were fine after a day or two."
