"2 MINUTES TIL KING'S CROSS STATION, ELIA" the old wizard bus driver, Mr. Prang, yelled out while recklessly driving in between cars.

Elianna smiled to herself. she was going back to Hogwarts today.

Even though Elia never thought about it enough to fully realize it, Hogwarts really was like home. She wasn't a sentimental or thoughtful person, nor was she a deep thinker. she was simple.

Everything about her was simple; her thoughts, her "style", her feelings. But she liked to keep it that way. It avoided a lot of big, deep conversations that she saw as dreadful and boring. However, she didn't mind being around people who were like that at all. Like her best friends Alison and Camila.

She smiled at the excitement of seeing them once again. They have been best friends ever since they met on their very first night at Hogwarts in their first year. The three of them met when they entered their dorm and were inseparable ever since. there were two other girls in their dorm but they weren't close to them at all.

"KING'S CROSS STATION! ON YOU GO" Mr. prang obnoxiously announced while turning his head facing a direction that Elia wasn't in, but thought she was.

She gave him a big hug and said thank you as she dropped 11 sickles in the coin compartment. Elia was convinced he was blind and deaf due to his intense talking volume and the fact that he's never directly faced her when talking.

She greatly appreciated Mr. Prang though. He drove her to the king cross station every year since she was 12. In her second year, her busy parents forget about her first day. So she pathetically tried walking to the station on her own when suddenly, a purple triple-decker bus came to her assistance and offered to take her there.

She turned around once she stepped off the vehicle and saw the purple buss bolt away to pick up the next stranded wizard or witch.

Elia placed her trunk and birdcage on a trolley and headed to platform 9 3/4. she always found that feeling of running into the bricks nostalgic.

She made her way through the crowd of loud, and sometimes emotional, parents and students until she found her way to the entrance of the train. Elia handed her trunk to the man who was accepting the luggage. She took her carpetbag that held her robes and the cage that held her feathery friend, Ozwin, onto the train and headed into an empty corridor.

She never found trouble finding one that was empty, since she was always one of the first people to get on. Everyone was always outside of the bus saying goodbye to family and reuniting with their friends by the time she sat down. Though Elia only considered three people to be her friends.

Not long after she settled in her corridor, more people started to board the train when her wholesome friend, Alison Clarke, passed by Elia's corridor looking for her.

"hey! right over here you bloody git" Elia called out poking her head out the sliding door as her curly-headed friend turned around cluelessly until her eyes met Elia's.

"ELIA!!!" Alison cheerfully yelled out. She wore an old knitted sweater, corduroy pants, her shiny uniform shoes, and her iconic round thin-framed glasses. She tried her best to hug Elia whilst holding a carpetbag and her cat, Humphrey, in his crate.

She was a very adorable girl with her button nose, full lips, and curly hair that stood up perfectly. Her grandpa-looking sweater smelled of an old person's scent like rosemary and citrus.

Alison lived with her grandparents and intentionally wore her grandad's sweaters simply just because she liked the look of them. Elia never understood that but that didn't matter. They suited her well and she made them look perfect on her

"Did you see Cami out there on the platform?" Elia asked helping Alison with her things.

"no, I didn't see her. Is she here with you?"

Elia just stared with a slight smile until Alison realized the silliness of the question.

"OH, just kidding" Alison scoffed at her cluelessness. Alison was like that though. Despite her being a very wise girl, she was a bit dense when it came to little things. She called herself an "old soul", although Cami and Elia called it ditziness.

The two girls happily caught up on what Alison did that summer since they couldn't send letters due to Allie not having an owl. Minutes before the train left, Camila arrived in their corridor.

"Hello, my dear friends," Camila Lewis said once she dramatically slid the door open, holding her coat with one arm and a big smirk on her face.

Cami was wearing a short-sleeved, black, mock neck, body con dress that went down to the middle of her things along with white knee-high socks, black ankle boots, a red belt, and her signature red lipstick. she was absolutely beautiful, with her confidence and posture and elegant style.

Her parents spoiled her since she was their youngest and their only girl, in addition to them being financially able to. Cami, however, wasn't your stereotypical brat for she was generous and humble. One year, for Christmas, all she asked from her parents were a matching earring, necklace, and bracelet pearl set just so that she could give them to Alison and Elia as a reminder of their friendship. It was a beautiful and generous gift. Even though there are some scenarios where people pay a lot of money for a simple gift that one would just accept out of pure politeness, this was not one of those scenarios. Alison and Elia were so thankful and their gifts suited them perfectly. They knew that there was not just a lot of money put into it, but a lot of thought. Alison was gifted the earrings and Elia the bracelet in beautiful, small, dark blue, velvet boxes. they looked absolutely gorgeous on them.

"Oh, have I missed you," Cami said while looking directly at Alison. "Merlin, you need to get yourself an owl, I need my weekly Alison wisdom". the three girls laughed at the charming girl's remark.

"I guess I'm just chopped liver then" Elia sarcastically said with a dense smile, adding to the laughter.

"Yea, chopped like vegetables" Alison attempted to add on expecting laughter but only received a confused silence.

"you know like how the-"

"Alison your humor is... SO DRY WHAT?!" Camila said while the three of them laughed wholeheartedly.

"I TRIED! I REALLY DID" Alison cried out, pretending to sob as Camila sat right next to her hugging and patting her head as if she were comforting her child.

The three of them were finally together again. Elia never admitted it, but these were the only two people in the whole world she'd go out of her simple-minded comfort zone for.
