*Jack J*
I walked towards the pond of water. We drank in silence."I'm glad you are ok Jack." I said.
"You too. Thanks for going back for me."
"Of course. I wouldn't leave you." I said. We sat on the hill.
"Can I tell you something?" Jack asked. I nodded.
"I don't think Mallory is dead." He said. I looked at him.
"Why?"
"She wasn't on the plane."
"How do you know that?" I asked.
"Leigh made me go see if I could check something in. I walked back and I heard the flight attendant telling her that she would come tell you that Mallory had gotten her seat changed."
"Why would she do that?" I asked. He shrugged.
"She wasn't on that plane which means shes not dead." I bit my lip while thinking.
"Leigh and I also wanted to tell you something. And Mallory. But now Leigh is gone so I'm telling you on my own." He said. I looked over at him.
"Remember when Leigh and I were in Florida for the year?" He asked.
"Yeah. What was that 16 or 17 years ago?" He nodded.
"Well, we weren't there for a vacation or looking for a house. She was pregnant." I whipped my head at him.
"Yeah. We didn't want anyone to know cause neither of us wanted a baby."
"And?" I asked.
"And it was a girl and we put her up for adoption."
"Have you seen her?" I asked.
"No, well not until about 3 years ago."
"Wait really?" I looked at him shocked.
"Yeah. Leigh was always curious about how she turned out and we knew her first and last name so we were able to be lucky enough to see her."
"Well can I meet her?"
"You don't need to meet her." Jack said looking down at his feet.
"What do you mean?"
"You know her."
"Who?" I was so curious.
"Our daughter is Adrianna." I looked at him in shock, opened my mouth, and closed it.
*Mallory*
I sat on my bed crying. Then for some reason, I stopped. Why was I crying? Some lady came in."Hello Mallory how are you doing today?"
"Is that my name?" I asked.
"Excuse me?" She looked at me.
"Where am I? And is that my name?" The person reached into her shirt pocket and pulled out a little puffy thing.
"I need a doctor in room 780 as soon as possible please."
"Can I talk into that?" I asked. Another man ran in.
"What's going on?"
"Memory loss."
"Didn't her husband and friends just die?" He asked quietly.
"I'm married? Cool." I said. The man gave me a look. I started playing with the bed sheets. What am I doing here?
*Leigh*
We dropped down at the hospital. The doors opened and hands reached in immediately to pull me out. My leg was in so much pain."Are you ok? How are you feeling?" A doctor said pulling me to a room.
"As good as any sane person could be after losing her husband and two best friends." I said sarcastically.
"We understand. But first things first, we need to check out your body to see if we need any surgery done." I took that in a wrong way. Perv.
"Anything hurting?"
"My leg and heart."
"Which leg?"
"Left."
"We are going to get an x-ray done." He wheeled me out of the room and into an x-ray room. They took a bunch of x-rays and pulled me out. They left me in the hall and I watched as they rolled in bloodied bodies from the crash. I examined each face and none of them were Jack, Jack or Mal. Maybe they were still alive? Or maybe they were burned to the ground. The doctor walked in again.
"It seems to be that something fell on your leg, shattering your foot and tearing a ton of the muscles. We can't do surgery until your bones fix up and after you rest. We are going to put you in room 779, one of our more comfy rooms." I nodded and they wheeled me into an elevator and took me to my new room. There were screams from next door.
"Geez, whats going on in there?"
"Some poor girl. Lost her husband and can't remember anything. We thought she had post traumatic stress with memory loss but it seems to be a much bigger deal. She lost all her memories."
"That's too bad." I said as he helped me into the bed.
"Yes. She actually went through cancer procedures and immediately after she learned she lost her husband and two best friends. It's too bad."
"Maybe I'll visit her. I'm going through the same thing." I fixed a pillow.
"Maybe when you are a little better." He gave me a smile and walked of the room. I closed my eyes and listened to the poor girl scream.
