~~~~Time Skip~~~~
"Wow~. This tastes amazing." Isshin compliments the food as he shovels it into his mouth.
Karin, who sat next to him, punches him in the arm.
"We're in public, show some manners."
"The food really is amazing. But I prefer Yuzu's cooking more."
"Aw~, thank you, Emiko."
"Ichigo, let your dad try some of that."
"Hey! Hands off my plate!"
It's night time. The five of us are at the new restaurant, enjoying our time together. Everything tonight was...perfect.
~~~~Meanwhile/Kaori's P.O.V.~~~~

"Come on, Kaori." Masume smiles at me.

"Yeah! All the good seats will be gone if we don't get a move on." Raiba adds.

I smile at my friends as we walk down the busy streets of Karakura Town. We were heading for that new restaurant everyone's been talking about.

"I know girls. Look, we're already here."

Spotting the place just down the street, they get excite.

"Let's go."

They both grab my hands and start running. I giggle as they do. As we reach the building, we head inside and get a booth. Ordering our food, we wait for it.

"Hey, school starts tomorrow. Don't you guys think this summer went by too fast?"

"It definitely did." Raiba agrees with Masume.

"But all that shopping was worth it, right?"

"Right." they both nod their heads at my question.

"Get away! If you want it so badly, go order one!"

"But it'll take too long~."

"Dad! Ichigo! Stop it, please. We're in public."

"There's no use trying, Yuzu. They're never going to listen. So much for celebrating the fact Emiko found her birth family."

...What?

Turning my head, I take a peek outside our booth. There, sitting a few tables away was the loser with her obnoxious pretend family.

"Yo, ghost girl is here? Come to think about it, I haven't seen her all summer." Masume thinks out loud.

"I thought she up and died. Maybe offed herself." Raiba smirks.

"Who cares about that. Did you hear? That witch found her real family." I point out.

Clutching my fists, I couldn't help but feel angry.

"She...dammit... I'm outta here! This place has low standards if they're letting people like them in!"

Getting up, I leave.

"W-Wait up, Kaori!"

"You two go home! I wanna be alone..."

They stop chasing after me and watch as I walk down the street alone.

"Dammit! Why is life so unfair?!" I shout to no one in particularly.

I receive strange stares from strangers, but I didn't care.

"Why...? Why does she get a happy ending? Why did life reward her?! She found her real family?! What about my family?!"

Stomping my way through town, I begin heading home.
