I yawned and stretched my arms out. I looked over to my right and there he was. River moved next to me. I know. I must seem extremely mean but I warned him about this already. I tried to push him so he'd wake up. He didn't budge. I pulled his ear and he woke up.

"5 more minutes." He groaned and pulled the blanket over his head.

"Get up. You moved to my area. Plus you got school." I yawned again and watched River shake his head.

"Fine. You leave me no choice." I said as I walked over to the bathroom.

I brushed my teeth and my hair and looked back into the room. He was still laying there so I poured water into a cup and walked back over to my bed.

"Get up." I said sternly.

"Not yet." He said and I poured water all over him.

"What the fuck?" He snapped as he sat up.

"Mad? I did warn you didn't i? Now get up." I smirked.

He groaned. " fine. "

I walked into the bathroom with my towel and took a shower. When I finished I slipped into my high waisted shorts and a pink top. I took my hair out of the towel and just let it fall.

I looked at River and he smiled.

"What? I said as I ran my fingers through my hair.

"Little much don't you think?" He said pointing to my shorts." Or should I say not enough." He laughed.

"Umm when did you become my mother?" I remarked.

"Just saying. Wouldn't want boys near you." He smiled.

"Why? Jealous?" I smirked at him and began to put my shoes on.

"Anyone would be jealous. Girls would want those gorgeous legs and guys would just want you. Including me" he smiled

I gasped, "River, I didn't know you wanted me." I said sarcastically

"Oh shush. " he laughed. "And besides I don't want you, I want to be with you, to protect you and love you. " he said making me blush.

"Oh stop that. And anyways these shorts aren't even that short."I smiled still blushing.

"Your right, but you should cover those legs. " he said with his eyebrow raised.

"How about you shut your mouth. " I laughed.

"Cmon Z, just admit you love me." He laughed.

I walked over to him and held his hand. " I do love you. "

"You do? " his eyes widened and he leaned in to kiss me but I let him kiss my hand.

I laughed. " you wish." I said as I walked out of the room and down to the kitchen. I heard him get mad as I was walking down the stairs.

I grabbed some yogurt and sat on the chair while I scrolled on my phone. I smiled.

"Thanks for leaving me like a loser up there." He frowned.

"Aww is the baby crying because I didn't give him a kiss?" I said in a baby voice then laughed.

"Ha ha you know you want my kisses. " he retorted and he smirked.

"I really don't." I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Real mature" he said as he bit into an apple.

I looked at what he was wearing. It was cute? I guess. Could be improved.

"Are you really wearing that?" I said as I put the spoon of yogurt into my mouth.

"Ain't got nothing else." His face softened. Oh no, I think I might've hit a sensitive spot.

"I'm sorry" I looked down in guilt

"It's not you. I just never realized what I lost. " I felt bad. I feel like I ruined his day. I had to do something.

"Hey come here. I want to show you something. " I said as I motioned over to me.

He walked over and looked "What?"

I turned around and pulled my sleeve down revealing a tattoo I had on the top of my shoulder. It said fighter.

"Fighter?" He questioned as he ran his fingers across the tattoo. I shivered at the touch and I knew he felt it.

"Fighter. For my sister. " I said and I felt a tear roll down my cheek at the thought of her. She died almost 6 years ago.

River noticed the tear and he held my face wiping the tears away. He pulled me into a hug. I felt safe in his arms. It was strange but I couldn't let go.

"Don't worry. I got you. I'm here for you. Just cry it out. " he said and he rubbed my back.

I pulled away. "Thanks. And sorry for crying, " I said as I cleaned up my makeup.

"It's fine. I care about you Zarah. I want you to know that." He said with a genuine smile.

"Thank you. " I smiled and looked back down at the ground and suddenly I felt a kiss on my forehead and I was pulled into another hug. It felt as if nothing could hurt me because I had someone and everyone needs a someone to make them feel like tomorrow is more than any other day.
