"She was the love of my life and you let me mourn her for what seemed like eternity!" Loki opened his lips to add on more, only to be lost for words.
"I understand-"
"No you don't!" Loki bawls. "I missed centuries of memories with her! I longed every day to forget her because my heart ached as if it was being stabbed with glowing red daggers over and over again!"
"Forgive me, but it seems we have an audience," Heimdall looks behind the god to Darcy who tries her best to hide.
"Lady Darcy... how much of that did you hear?"
"Would it make you feel better if I lied and said I heard none of it?" She carefully walks over.
"It would be in your best interest to forget this conversation ever happened," Loki looks back to Heimdall with a glossed over glare. "You may go,"
As the gatekeeper disappears, Darcy looks to Loki in shock. "Forget? Dude, she's crying because she thought you died like how many whatever years ago!"
"It's best she doesn't know," Loki swallows the lump in his throat.
"Best? Is that what you really want? To let her go?"
"How would I even approach her with the news?" Loki pushes past Darcy. "Either way, it's none of your business,"
"She loves you! And evidently you do too!"
"She loved me, the younger version of me, without the rough edges, without the broken pieces and without the crimes against an entire planet," Loki turns his head slightly to look at Darcy. "It's best for it to be left alone, Lady Darcy,"
"Dude- oh come on!" Darcy stomps her foot on the ground as the door closes behind him.

His emerald eyes scanned the hall where everyone crowded around a door.
"There he is," Pietro drags Loki back to the group.
"Here I am?" Loki asks in distress as he combs back his hair.
"I think she could use your company right now," Nat nudges him to open the door.

Sipping quietly at the hot chocolate the dessert chef had made for you, you cuddled against the velvet couch now changed into some shorts and Loki's dress shirt.
"Y/n?" You heard his voice call out, your own croaky voice inviting him in.
"Come in," you chuckle. Loki took off his blazer and placed it to the side. "You know you smell like mint?"
"I'm sorry?"
"No, no, I actually like it," you mumble with a smile. "It calms me... I used to think only the smell of old books calmed me because that's what he smelled like,"
"Lucian?"
"So you could decipher my sobs?" You chuckle before making room for Loki. "He always went out of his way to show me books he had found tossed out or left behind... though I'm certain he stole a few of them,"
"Quite the character," Loki smiles softly at the memory he could recall.
"He really was... and best of all is that he cared- oh god, I'm sorry, this must be weird for you,"
"No, no, darling, just say what you need to say, I'm here to listen,"
"Thank you, Loki,"
"You're welcome, my dove," Loki wrapped his arm around you, letting you lean into his touch. A sniffle fills the silence as he looks back down. "Don't cry, darling," Loki places away the mug and makes you look up at him.
"I can't help it... I just- have you ever loved someone? Like genuinely loved,"
"Of course, I won't lie in saying I don't still love her," your heart stung but you shrugged it off. "In fact I'm in the situation as you,"
"You are?"
Loki nods and intertwines his fingers with yours. "I met her centuries ago, when I was just a child,"
"Was she Asgardian?"
"Oh, no... she was an Angel,"
You chuckle and shake your head. "That's so cheesy,"
"But it's true... but this Angel didn't last forever... Heimdall informed me she had died from a sickness," the god sighs.
"I'm so sorry, Loki,"
"You need not to apologise, my dove," he places a soft kiss on your head. "I've found my new Angel," his eyes soften and meet yours.
"Me?"
"Who else?"
"Loki, I'm quite literally a demon," you laugh in amusement.
"Well, to me you're an Angel, Y/n," his hand moves its way up to hold your cheek. His heart raced as you leant into his touch. "I love you, Y/n,"
You wanted to say it back... you wanted to, so badly. But your lips refused to move, to form those words. Loki looked down at you desperately as your eyes seemed to close off, as you moved back.
"I- I have to go," Loki tried to take your hand but you were out the door in an instant. The group watched from the other side of the hall as you burst open the door and ran out.
"Wonderful, you scared her off!" Loki drops his head into his hands, combing back his hair and wiping away the escaping tear.
"Mr Loki? Where did Y/n go?" Peter peaks around the open door.
"Kid? What happened-" Tony looks into the room where Loki sat alone, not a single trace of you. "Loki? Where did Y/n go? What did you do?"
"I-"
"What happened?" The girls rush in, Darcy front and centre.
"I told her that I love her," His shaky breath made everyone soften. "And I scared her," Loki stands up and walks out the door.
