Fiddling with the invitation, people swarmed in and out of the building giving no mind to your almost minuscule worth.

After centuries of surviving wars, pandemics, economic catastrophes and adapting to the modern era, the worst amongst this all was the little contribution you made.

How could you? If you did, people would find out you've been alive for 1,200 years!

"Uhm, hi, I'm here to see Mr Stark?"

The woman kept her gaze fixated on what you saw was space invaders through the reflection behind her. "Do you have an appointment?"

"I have an invitation,"

Her eyes darted to the card you held out. "Take a seat,"

Minutes turned to an hour which made you groan. Standing up and tossing the magazine to the side you placed a hand against the wall and felt for any protection charm that may stop you.

"Stark should invest in magical protection," seeing a corner of darkness you slip into it and slither through cracks into what looked to be the main lounge. "Afternoon," you reveal yourself which caused a knife to be thrown at you.

"What the hell?!" You twirled the blade in your hand and tossed it back to Natasha.

"Sorry for intruding but that receptionist of yours was taking too long," clicking your tongue you scanned the room where Natasha and a few others sat.

"Oh, hey, lava girl," Tony Stark saunters into the room with his tablet. "When did you get here?"

"An hour ago, invest in a new receptionist,"

Tony nods and gestures for you to follow him. "I heard you weren't eager when Nat offered you, but evidently you're considering it,"

"Or I have nothing better to do on a Saturday,"

"Maybe. I have a simulation I'd like to test out, ya know, to see if you're Avenger material," he leads you to a blank room, one side with weapons, the other with hexagons glowing a faint blue. "Have fun,"

Picking up a dagger, you toss it in the air as a whirring fills the space. Striking the first bot through peripheral vision, it buzzed and jittered before collapsing.

One by one each target fell with a blade sticking out its neck. More and more flew in, a groan escaping your lips.

"Cut some lights out!" Fighting off a bot you send a glare to Tony who does at told. Slipping into the shadows you easily ended the shelf life of what was left.

To Tony this looked like a red force slicing through the targets at an incredible speed. His eyes zig zagged from side to side as he tried to find the source.

"All done,"

Tony's little girl scream rings through the viewing room. "How did you get out?!"

"Shadows," you moved around in the dark. "Help," popping up here. "Me," there. "Move," and over there. "Around,"

Tony brightens the room with all his power. "Please never do that again," he pleads with a shiver moving down his spine.

"Sure thing," you say, a smile playing on your lips.

~~~
"And this is your room," it was plain white, nothing more than a bed, desk and closet. It was big, yes, but plain. It could do with some remodelling, but you would get to that later.
"So I get my own room, food is provided, I get to buy anything I want and there are facilities here like a library and pool?"
"Yes, yes, yes and yes,"
"Deal,"
"Great! Welcome to the team," Tony shakes your hand before leading you to the rest of the group. "Meet our newest member," a few wave which you return with a smile.
"So what exactly are you?"
"Pietro! You can't just ask someone what they are!" a red head who you remember from that night whispers.
"It's fine, it's not like it's a secret," a few gesture for you to go on. "I'm a demon,"
"A demon? Where's your tail and horns?" Pietro looks to you in confusion.
"And wings, and pitchfork?" The boy who had the same voice as the spider clad hero asks.
"That's the stereotypical demon, don't get me wrong, I have a demon form but... I prefer my human form more," you too back and forth on your heels. "Scares less kids,"
"Can we see it?"
"Nope," a round of disappointed sighs fills the room.
"I'll get people to start moving your things," Tony goes to call upon whoever would be tasked with it when you stopped him.
"Being a demon has its perks," conjuring up charcoal you walk to your door and draw a sigil against it.
"Hey!" Tony was shut up by Captain America who shushed him.
"From earth to fire, turn this room to how I desire," a spark ignited the sigil, a flash and bang, a few rumbles of furniture filling silence. Once it was done your fingers pushed open the door to reveal a red and black room fit for the gods.
"That was..." the Falcon mumbles.
"Amazing," the rest breathe out.
"My door!" Tony suddenly shouts.
"Oh calm yourself," pulling the door closed the burns were gone, the wood good as new.
"I think you'll be a good asset to the team, Ma'am," Captain America held out his hand for you to take. "Steve Rogers, Ma'am,"
"Pleasure, I remember you during the war, quite the contrast from a show boy,"
"You were alive in the war?" The man you recognise as Bucky Barnes.
"How old are you?" Pietro gets another punch which caused a chuckle to leave your lips. "Sorry," he wheezes.
"1,200 or 20 in human years," (let's pretend Loki is 1,350 years old aka 23 years old in human years)
"Wow you're old," Pietro yet again receives a punch. "I'll just shut up," he groans from the ground.
"That would be for the best,"
