The Tale of Daichi

Episode 2: Finding a Fire Master

*In the Morning*
Daichi wakes up and walks to the bathroom and washes his face. He then walks to Tsuya's room. He walks in and starts shaking Tsuya.
Daichi: Come on, wake up.
Tsuya's eyes flutter open.
Tsuya: Uhh!
Daichi: Good morning.
Tsuya: Yeah, good morning.
Tsuya starts slowly getting up.
Daichi: Are you ready to head to the Fire Nation?
Tsuya: Are you ready to head to the Fire Nation?
Daichi: Why did you just ask me the same question?
Tsuya: Because you do not look ready. Where are the bags? You don't even have good clothes on. We are going to find a Firebending Master. You need to at least look nice.
Daichi: I look nice!
Tsuya then chuckles as she grabs her clothes.
Tsuya: No, you do not.
She walks into the bathroom.
Daichi: I guess, I will just wait for you.
Tsuya: Boy, if you don't go get changed!
Daichi: Yep, you got it.
-An Hour or so Later-
Daichi has on a dark green shirt with tan pants and a tan jacket. Tsuya is wearing green pants with a lime green shirt and cloak. Tsuya then puts all of her weapons inside of her cloak.
Daichi: Why are you bringing your weapons?
Tsuya: Just in case.
Tsuya then grabs her bag and starts walking out.
Daichi: Just in case of what?
Tsuya continues to walk.
Daichi: Okay, so I get no answer.
Daichi grabs his bag and follows Tsuya.
Tsuya: So, how are we going to get there?
Daichi: Boulder Travel.
Tsuya's face then turns to a look of annoyance.
Tsuya: I hate Boulder Travel!
Daichi: It's the fastest way to get there.
Tsuya: Yeah, I know. Just make the boulder.
Daichi and Tsuya make it to the cliff. Daichi then stomps on the ground making a giant boulder come up. He and Tsuya then jump on the boulder. Daichi then pushes the boulder forward with his bending.
-Two Hours Later-
Daichi lands the boulder in front of the Fire Nation. Daichi and Tsuya then jump off of the boulder. They then both look at the Fire Nation.
Tsuya: So, this is the Fire Nation?
Daichi: Looks like it.
Tsuya then shrugs.
Tsuya: The Earth Kingdom looks better.
Daichi: Can we just go inside?
Tsuya: Yeah, let's go inside.
They both walk to the gate but are stopped by a guard.
Guard: what is your business here, earth dwellers?
Tsuya: That has to be a slur.
Daichi: I got this. We are just here to visit a friend.
Guard: I can tell that you are lying. You two will not enter.
Daichi: We are going through that door.
Guard: Per the new rules of the Fire Nation, you will have to beat me to pass. And you won't beat me.
Daichi cracks his knuckles and neck.
Daichi: Let's see about that!
Daichi smashes his hands on the ground and rock forms on his fist. The guard then starts blasting fire at Daichi who is weaving all the blasts. Daichi then rockslides to get closer to the guard and starts punching him with his rock-covered fist. He keeps punching and punching the guard until he falls, unconscious. Daichi then lets go of the rock around his fist. Daichi walks over to Tsuya.
Daichi: I win!
Tsuya: Now, let's go inside.
Daichi and Tsuya walk into the Fire Nation. They are admiring the area until they accidentally bump into two other people.
Daichi: Oh, I'm sorry.
???: It's all good.
??: Yeah, it's good.
Tsuya: Well, that's great. Let's get going Daichi.
???: Wait for a second.
Daichi turns around to the two.
Daichi: Yeah?
??: You two don't look from around here.
Daichi: That's because we are not. We are from the Earth Kingdom. I am Daichi Kingu.
He puts his hand out to ??? who then shakes it.
???: I am Tetsuo Kamada.
Daichi: Nice to meet you, this is my friend Tsuya Tatakai.
He points to Tsuya who then shakes ??.
Tsuya: You didn't have to say my full name, but yes I'm Tsuya. You are?
??: Taima Yagi.
Taima kisses her hand and bows.
Tetsuo: So, why are you all here?
Daichi: I am here to learn Firebending.
Taima: Fire Bending?
Tetsuo: But aren't you an Earth Bender?
Tsuya: Yes, he is. So if he's an Earth Bender, and asking to learn Firebending, what could that mean? Are you smart enough to figure it out?
Daichi: You don't have to be rude.
Tetsuo: So he's the Avatar.
Tsuya: Ding, ding, ding, you are correct. Do you want a cookie?
Taima laughs.
Tetsuo: Who is she talking to?
Daichi: Can we all just calm down? Tsuya stop starting things.
Tsuya: I'm just joking with him.
Daichi: Now, umm Tetsuo do you know any Fire Bending Masters who could teach me Fire Bending?
Tetsuo: I do know Fire Bending Masters.
Taima: But Fire Bending Masters who want to teach outsiders, yeah we don't know any of those.
Tsuya: What do you mean?
Taima: The new Fire Lord is kind of strict on outsiders, he wants the Fire Nation cut off from any other nation.
Daichi: So no one can teach me fire bending?
Tetsuo: Now, I didn't say all that, I can teach you fire bending.
Daichi: You are a Firebending Master?
Tetsuo: I'm more than that but yes I am a Firebending Master.
Daichi: Can you teach me fire bending?
Tetsuo: Ehh, I don't know.
Tsuya: Whatcha mean "you don't know"?
Tetsuo: I mean that I don't know if I want to teach him.
Taima: And you need to mind your business.
Tsuya: Who are you talking to?!
Taima: You!
Tsuya is about to pull a weapon out of her cloak but she is stopped by Daichi.
Daichi: What do I have to do to gain your trust and want so that you can train me?
Tetsuo and Taima start thinking.
Taima: Fight me.
Daichi: What?
Taima: Fight both me and him. If we deem you strong enough we will train you.
Daichi: Oh, so you both are firebenders?
Taima: No, I'm a non-bender.
Daichi: Oh, okay. Well, I accept the challenge.
Tetsuo: Okay, follow me.
Tetsuo starts walking with the rest of the group following. They walk until they reach a closed-off area of the Fire Nation. Taima and Daichi get into the middle of the area. Daichi begins to stretch and Taima starts cracking his knuckles.
Taima: Are you ready?
Daichi: Of course!
Taima lifts both of his pants legs and Daichi notices things tied around his calves.
Daichi: What are those?
Taima: These are my weights.
Daichi: Okay, why are you showing me them?
Taima then takes the weights off of his calves and throws them on the ground. When the weights land on the ground they make two small craters.
Daichi: The hell?!
Taima then starts stretching. He then gets into a fighting stance.
Daichi: (He's a non-bender what could he do to me)
Daichi gets into an earth-bending fighting stance.
Tetsuo: Ready, set, go!
Taima bursts off the ground leaving a small crack on the ground. He rushes forward at Daichi and tries to punch him but Daichi rockslides on the ground to get away. Daichi then stumps on the ground and punches his fist forward. This makes rock spikes come from the ground at Taima. As the rock spikes come for Taima he gets into a different stance.
Taima: Dragon Style: Scale Armor - Rapid Flying Fist!
Taima hardly squeezes his hands into fists. He then rushes forward and starts punching through the rock spikes.
Daichi: The hell!
Taima then jumps off the ground into the air and falls to kick Daichi in the face.
Taima: Dragon Style: Flying Winged Kicks!
Taima rapidly kicks Daichi in the chest, sending him back. Daichi then falls to the ground.
Taima: Is that all you got, Avatar?!
Daichi then punches the ground making rock slabs fly at Taima. Taima kicks all of the rock slabs away. When Taima looks back, Daichi is no longer on the ground.
Taima: Where did you go?
Taima breathes in and lets out a breath. He then stands still. Daichi then pops out of the ground with rocks around his fists. He then punches Taima who weaves the punch.
Taima: Dragon Style: Claw of Dragon King!
He makes a claw with his hand and hits Daichi in the stomach, sending him flying back. Daichi catches himself with sand from the ground.
Taima: Come on, you can do better!
Daichi then stumps on the ground with both of his legs and brings his hands up which pulls rock from the ground making multiple walls of rock. Daichi then punches forward, this makes all of the rock walls head for Taima. Taima pulls both of his fists back and turns them into palms.
Taima: Dragon Style: Will of the Dragon King!
The rock walls are about to hit Taima. Taima then pushes both of his palms forward, hitting the wall. The three other walls hit the first wall making four rock walls hit Taima's palms. Taima starts pushing forward on the rock walls.
Taima: AHH!!
Tsuya: How the hell is he doing that?!
Tetsuo shrugs.
Tetsuo: Honestly, I don't know. After he went on that one-year vacation to where the Dragons live, he came back more powerful version of his Dragon-style fighting.
Tsuya: So he is just using pure strength and speed?
Tetsuo: Yep.
Taima pushes through the rock walls but is then blasted back with sand from Daichi. Taima is blinded by the sand, Daichi then stumps on the ground and brings his hand down. This makes a hole form under Taima. Taima falls into the hole. Daichi then runs to the hole. As he is running he is dragging his feet on the ground, clumping rocks on his feet. He then makes it to the hole and drops down hitting Taima in the stomach with his rock-covered feet.
Taima: AHH!!
Daichi: How was that for a combo?!
Taima jumps off of the ground which makes Daichi get off of him. They both then jump out of the hole and bow to each other.
Taima: You did well.
Daichi: Thanks, you are very strong.
Taima: Yeah, I know that.
Tetsuo then walks over to the two and puts his arm around Taima and gives him a noogie.
Tetsuo: That was a good fight.
Taima then pushes him off.
Taima: Don't do that again. He is a good fighter with bending, but can't do much when it comes to hand-to-hand fighting.
Tetsuo laughs.
Tetsuo: So he's bending dependent.
Taima: Yep.
Tsuya then walks over to the group.
Tsuya: I tried to teach him, but he didn't want to learn.
Daichi: Yeah, I see that having hand-to-hand combat is actually very important.
Tsuya: Duh, stupid.
Tetsuo then starts stretching.
Daichi: Why are you stretching?
Tetsuo: You still haven't proved to me that I should train you. So, we are about to fight.
Daichi: What?!
Tetsuo steps a couple of feet away from Daichi and gets into a firebending stance. Daichi then follows suit and gets in an earthbending stance. Taima and Tsuya then step back.
Taima: Ready, set, go!
Tetsuo bursts forward off the ground with fire from his feet. He flies at Daichi. Daichi stumps on the ground and pushes forward, this sends boulders at Tetsuo. Tetsuo stops flying and lands on the ground. Tetsuo then starts spinning and kicks a sharp fire that cuts a boulder in half. Tetsuo then stumps on the ground and punches forward. That brings fire from Tetsuo's body to his fist making a giant burst of fire that knocks the boulder down. Daichi then slides on the rock toward Tetsuo. Daichi kicks Tetsuo in the chest. Tetsuo grabs Daichi's foot and throws him in the air.
Tetsuo: You aren't on the ground, you're powerless.
Tetsuo then sends multiple fireballs at Daichi. The fireballs hit Daichi, blasting him back to the ground, and hitting his back on a boulder. Tetsuo then runs at Daichi while charging lightning in his hands. Daichi slowly gets up and sees Tetsuo running at him.
Tetsuo: Maybe you need more training, you aren't ready for firebending.
Tetsuo punches forward with two fingers and blasts lightning at Daichi. Daichi then freezes in place as the lightning is coming at him. Daichi snaps out of it and he puts two fingers forward. The lightning hits Daichi's fingers and goes around his body. Daichi then shoots the lightning bolt in the air.
Daichi and Tetsuo: What the hell?!
Tetsuo: Why are you confused?!
Daichi: I never did that before.
Tetsuo: Then how did you do it?!
Daichi: I don't know, I froze in place and then I remembered my mother. My body acted on its own.
Tetsuo: Was your mother a firebender?
Daichi: Yeah, but she mostly focused on lightning.
Tetsuo: You must have seen your mother redirect lightning and out of instinct did the same movements to avoid getting hit by lightning.
Daichi: I guess so.
Tetsuo: Well, if your instincts are that good, then maybe you are worth teaching.
Daichi: So, you will teach me?
Tetsuo: Both me and Taima. You need to learn how to fight.
Taima then walks over with Tsuya.
Taima: Yep, he's right.
Tsuya: So where will we stay?
Tetsuo: Follow me.
Tetsuo walks and the rest of the group follows him. Tetsuo takes them to a dojo marked by a dragon head.
Tetsuo: This is my family's dojo. This is where you both will be staying and training. The Kamada Temple!
Taima: Always showing off, huh?
Tetsuo: Of course.
Tetsuo shows the two to their rooms.
Tetsuo: You two can't be walking around here in Earth Kingdom clothing so there are clothes in the closets. Me and Taima got some business to go take care of. Make yourselves comfortable. Also, tomorrow we start both of your training.
Tetsuo and Taima walk out of the dojo.
Tsuya: Wait, BOTH of our training?!
