Tanya: Star cheerleader, blonde, small.

Stephanie: Member of the cheerleading squad, Tanya's best friend.

Marsha: Member of the cheerleading squad.

Other members: Sadie, Anita, Mia, Sophie, Emma, and Tina

Danny: Tanya's boyfriend

Maggie and Daniel: Tanya's parents

Tanya shut her locker door, eager to get to cheer practice. It was her favorite thing. Other than reading her Bible and doing things with her church family. That was always the top of her list.
"Hey, Tanya! Excited for cheer practice?" Stephanie asked.
"Yep. I'm psyched," She said. "You know me. Cheer is my second favorite thing. Well, other than hanging out with you, and with Danny. But Bible study will always be first." She said. Stephanie nodded. They headed outside for cheer practice, laughing and talking. They lined up, and started practice.
After practice, Stephanie went home with Tanya.
"Slumber party?" Stephanie asked.
"Heck yeah!" Tanya said. They went up to Tanya's room, throwing their bags on the floor.
"How late are we going to stay up this time?" Stephanie asked, laughing.
"Don't know. Depends on when we get tired." Tanya said. They both had homework, so that was first. Stephanie always stayed at Tanya's house when there was a game the next day, it was easier to get to the game.
"Girl, I can't wait to do that new stunt tomorrow. It's going to be so cool!" Stephanie exclaimed.
"Yeah! I've never done anything like it before. I hope we practiced it enough." Tanya said. Stephanie nodded.

The next day, at the game, the squad was getting ready. Tanya knew Danny was in the stands, he always was. She had an odd feeling, but she ignored it. She ran out with the other cheerleaders. Tanya was a flyer, meaning she was thrown in the air, and caught at the bottom. She was lifted by Marsha and Sophie, ready to be tossed. She went up....and came crashing down. Everyone in the stands gasped.

Tanya gasped for air, only able to look above her. And even that was blurry. Pain shot through her back. People surrounded her, asking her questions that she couldn't answer. Danny was trying to get to her, and the coaches had to push everyone back.
"Danny, Stephanie, keep her awake! Everyone else, back off!" The cheer coach shouted. Tanya continued to gasp for air, and the coach called 911. Tanya started to shut her eyes, and Danny tried to keep her awake. "Tanya, babe, you gotta stay awake. I know it hurts." Danny kept saying. Stephanie tried to help, but Danny knew what he was doing. He had taken first aid training last year.
"Just make sure she keeps breathing." Danny told Stephanie. Tanya managed to stay awake until the ambulance arrived, but the last thing she saw was flashing lights.
