The next day i woke up with a feeling of regret lurking in my conscience but i still decided to get up and get on with my day, it was my first day back from when i was helping my dad and i was feeling nervous and i hated it because i had never felt nervous before but yet again i had never met a girl like lily before but i guess i was more nervous to see her after last night but the fact that i had less than 2 hours sleep because i was up all night thinking about her doesn't help my situation at all.
Classes start at 9am so i was ready by half 8, i wanted to see lily before class and apologise for last night but as i walked towards her cedric walked over and hugged her so i decided it was best not to. I knew seeing them together was going to make me miserable and that i was in no way over lily but there was nothing i could do anymore about it. In my first class my seat was meant to be right next to lily and if i'm honest i was happy that i would finally have a chance to talk to her without cedric being there but when i walked into the classroom cedric sat down on my seat, i decided to not make a big deal about it as i had been gone for so long seats were bound to change so i sat on the only available seat, next to luna. "oh well if it isn't the mysterious draco malfoy" she said as i sat in the seat next to her, i looked over to see lily giving me the side eye pretending she wasn't bothered by me sitting next to another girl. " oh i see trying to make the ex jealous by sitting next to another girl?" she said looking to lily then back at me. "no actually my seat was taken by her new boyfriend but i'm not bothered." she scoffed. "not bothered? tell that to your face!" i scowled at her. "i don't know what your talking about." i said acting clueless. "yeah okay sure, so your over her then?" i wasn't quite sure what to say. "well obviously not." i said confused on why i was even talking to her. "that's what i thought, do you want her back?" i wanted her back more than anything. "yes but i already told her to be with him and not me as i wanted the best for her." she let out a small giggle. "the best for her? oh no." i was confused. "what? i do." she moved closer to me. "i have a proposition for you, to get her back." i looked over at lily. "okay i'm listening." she smiled. "we pretend we are dating she will get jealous and want you back, done." i moved away and laughed at her absurd comment. "no! that won't work, and either way what would you get out of this." she rolled her eyes. "rolf, you know him right? well i want to make him jealous as much as you want to make lily jealous." i sighed. "okay, but if she doesn't get jealous what then?" i said. "well let's just wait and see."
at the end of the class she grabbed my hand and whispered in my ear "make this believable." then as soon as lily looked in our direction she kissed me on the cheek. "see you soon." she shouted as she walked to her next class and i walked the opposite way. "really draco? you and her?" i turned around to see lily walking up to me. "what?" i said shrugging my shoulders. "that's why you didn't want to get back together with me last night?" oh shit. " no of course not! me and luna are just really good friends and we had a chat this morning and i well... like her." i cringed at my own words, i kept walking as she walked beside me and i tried to avoid eye contact. "so you two aren't dating?" i opened the door to our next class that we were both in. "well no but kind off it's not for sure yet i guess we are just seeing where this takes us?" i said as i sat in my seat and she sat next to me. "you know i don't like cedric as much as i like you and last night you said you loved me, i think it was quite shitty of you to move on but whatever i'm just fine with cedric." i just grinned, it was working.
at lunch luna ran up to me and grabbed my hand. "where are you going?" she said as she pulled me into the great hall. " my room." she just kept pulling me. "well it's lunch and we are sitting at my table with ron, harry and the others." i stopped. "no i can't, lily's table?" she just continued to pull me while giggling. "well yes of course we have to make her jealous right." she then told me to be quiet as we approached the table. " hi guys." they all turned to look at us and i expected harry to say something but all he said was "hey you two, sit down." which was weird but lily didn't say anything she just looked away. so i sat across from her and next to luna. we occasionally gave each other an awkward glance but didn't stare for long and didn't talk, i sat next to her in my next class as well and i knew it was going to be awkward.
"we are still friends right?" she said as she sat down in her chair next to me in potions class. "ouch are you friendzoning me now." i said as i put my hand on my head and pretended to be hurt. "as if it wasn't you that broke up with me then got yourself in another relationship." she said as she rolled her eyes. "i'm joking." i said as i budged her shoulder. "well? u didn't answer the question." she said smiling at me. "of course." i said smiling back. "great, and you like me more than luna right and you still love me right?" she said talking faster. "woah hold on what? where is this all coming from?" i said whispering as the class got silent. "well i seen you with her and i guess it made me..." i laughed. "jealous?" i said as she crossed her arms. "actually no i guess it just made me miss you being there for me and our chats we had." i just looked at her. "what about the do you still love me part though?" i said still whispering. " well that was just a question. do you?" i sighed. "hm i'm not sure i guess it's a secret, do you still love me?" she winked. "i guess it's a secret." she said laughing.
