Julie and the Phantoms Oneshots

Second First Day of School

After the performance at the Orpheum, Julie decided it was time for the boys to go back to school. Whether people could see them or not she still wanted them to go to school and learn more than just new technology and songs. She needed Alex to not have the only brain cell the boys shared.

Julie knew going back to High School won't be easy for the guys. Reggie's parents were always fighting which would cause him to feel lonely; Luke always ran away from his parents, which would cause him to distance himself from others besides the band. Alex was gay growing up in the 90s so he got bullied a lot, and not just by classmates, his parents were never cool again after he told them he was gay.

As they approached the building they all took deep breaths. They didn't know how this would go down and for the boys, they would be going back to high school. As Julie opened the school doors she immediately got stares from classmates. Oh my gosh! It's Julie's band!! Was heard from many students as they ran up to the group to take photos. Julie and the guys stood there shocked. They couldn't believe what was happening, everybody could see them, and they weren't even playing music! Julie had to come up for a reason for them being here. She wasn't expecting people to be able to see them. Yeah, they decided to come visit from Sweden. I'm just showing them what schools are like in America. Julie quickly made her way over to music class, having the boys follow her with an occasional photo taken along the way.

When Julie arrived in Ms. Harrison's classroom she asked if her and the guys could perform for her class. Since everyone could already see the guys, they figured they mine as well perform a song. Ms. Harrison agreed and Julie led the guys into the hall to discuss what song they were going to perform.
J: Ok, so what song do you guys want to perform?
L: I was thinking Great or Free
Everyone: Yes! That's a great idea!
A: But which one?
R: I vote for Finally Free!
L: I'm fine with either one
J: Me too, Alex? What about you?
A: I think we should do Finally Free
J: Ok, Finally Free it is!
The band headed into the classroom to set up. Once they set up, Julie took her spot at the piano and heard her classmates start cheering as they heard the familiar sound of the song. Hey guys! So my band is visiting from Sweden so we thought we'd perform something. This is our song Finally Free! I hope you like it!

Julie started playing the intro and as soon as she started singing, everyone started cheering and applauding.
Hearts on fire, We're no liars So we say what we want to say, I'm awakened no more faking so we push all our fears away.
The boys looked at Julie in aww, they were always amazed when she started singing. She was so talented and they were glad they got to be her friends.

The boys suddenly jumped in; Alex on drums, Reggie on guitar and Luke on vocals. The entire class started cheering when the boys came in.
J and L: I got a spark in me, hands up if you can see, and you're a part of me Hands up if you're with me
Now til eternity hands up if you believe been so long, and now we're finally free
The entire class started cheering when hearing Luke join in and acting like they were having their own little concert.

As Julie and Luke finished the duet part of the song, Julie realized that she was singing the truth. She was finally free. After her mom died, she had been trapped; for months she would get angry and just wasn't herself. And then when the boys came into her life she felt so pressured trying to hide the truth about them and why they were suddenly in her life. But when she showed up to school and people could see them, she felt relieved. She didn't have to explain where they were and singing with them.... With Luke made her realize that they finally set her free from all the darkness she had been through.

Julie sang her next solo part with tears in her eyes realizing this was where she belonged.

Now it was time for the back and forth. The part Julie and Luke made up on the spot. They had performed so many times before, but this time was different. This time, Julie was singing with passion. She meant every single word and hoped Luke did too.

When the song had ended, Julie couldn't help but beam. She loved her band and she loved being able to share their music with people. She didn't understand how something like this could happen to her and how she got so lucky to have them. Finally, as the class rose to a standing ovation, the band took their vows and the boys were amazed at the fact that they hadn't disappeared.

"Amazing! Thank you! Thank you!" Ms. Harris said from the piano where she stood with a big smile on her face and applauding the performance. "You all did fantastic! Julie,I am so proud of how far you've come. Boys, thank you for bringing music back into her life and putting the smile back on her face." Julie looked back at the boys when Ms. Harris said that and they had all collectively had tears in their eyes. "You're welcome, mame" responded Reggie, "No problem" said Alex. "Of course miss, we're lucky to have met her and this music means alot to all of us. We are so lucky to have met Julie and big only have we healed her, she's healed us". Luke's words were magical. Julie was trying even harder to not cry more than she already was, he was so sweet and gave her so much confidence, she didn't know what she would do without him.

AN: I'm going to have to split this into two parts since this story is very long. I hope you guys enjoy this next, I've been working on it for a long time!
