One Month After King Kion's Coronation
The golden rays of sunlight just started to eclipse the peaks of the surrounding mountains, illuminating the land for all to see. The animals of the Tree of life started to wake up in a cheerful mode. With peace descending on the lands and the royal couple happier than ever many thought this was the start of a new golden age for the Tree of Life.
"Kion!" Baliyo almost shouted, the chocolate brown male jogged up to his king, a look of doubt plastered on his face.
"What's up Baliyo?" Kion responded with a raised eyebrow. "Are you sure you should be going on patrol alone? I think it's safer if we go in our usual team." Kion chucked at Baliyo's concern "Relax Baliyo, the Tree of Life has been nothing but peaceful for the past month, why don't you guys take the day off & I'll take care of the patrol."
"If you say so Kion. Just make sure to come back on time, I'd hate it if you left us with a fuming Rani because you couldn't make it to your date today." Baliyo stated
"Now that you mention it I better get going." Kion said with a nervous smile "If I was late I would practically be signing my death wish." and with that Kion headed off to make his rounds in the kingdom.
"Has Kion already gone on patrol?" Rani sleepily asked coming out of the Tree with Nirmala "Yea Rani you just missed him actually, he should be back in time for your night out though." Baliyo replied
"He better!" Rani playfully growled, "If he's not I'll make him regret waking up today!"
"Come Rani," Nirmala chuckled "Let's get you ready for tonight."
TLKTLKTLK
Kion had almost finished his rounds late into the Afternoon, it had mostly gone smoothly despite there being a dispute between the polar bears and the penguins that he had managed to fix relatively quickly. Kion saw dark clouds rolling over from the northeast and put a mental note in his mind to talk with Rani about postponing the date to a later time with some more suitable weather.
"Alright, I just have to check out the mountain pass and I will be done for the day," Kion said to himself, already looking forward to hanging out with Rani and his friends on the guard.
Kion walked along the mountain pass, everything seemed in order, until Kion heard the all too familiar sound of pebbles shifting. Kion got into a defensive position, facing the direction of the noise.
"Show yourself!" Kion demanded firmly
The animal leaped out and revealed himself with an evil smirk, causing Kion to gasp.
"Makucha! I Told you to leave the Tree of Life and never come back again!" Kion growled as he retracted his claws.
"Looks like I just couldn't stay away." Makucha spat as he sent a blow towards Kion which he narrowly blocked.
The two fought each other ferociously, neither one could get an advantage over the other.
"Why don't you give up Makucha?" Kion grunted, "it's obvious you will never win."
"Just you wait Kion, soon I will take away everything you love, starting with your friends, then your family and, finally that worthless fleabag you call a mate." Makucha taunted
Kion's rage boiled, he suddenly pinned Makucha with overwhelming strength.
"Now listen to me you scum, I will never let anyone I care about have their journeys in the circle of life cut short by dirt like you!" Kion exclaimed in rage. Slashing Makucha's neck, killing him instantly. Only to hear a familiar voice shout "Hapana!" in the distance
