"You stood on a shard of glass?" Hope examined my bandaged foot, resting on a footstool in front of the couch.
"For the one-thousandth time, yes."
"It just gets funnier every time you say it though." Shenice giggled. We called her over earlier in the morning after we realized I was in no fit state to drive with the pain still being pretty bad.
"How is my pain funny to you?" I crossed my arms and pouted.
"If you weren't you right now, you'd also find this hilarious" Hope and Shenice laughed in unison.
"You guys suck. I love how I told you guys I had my first kiss yesterday but you're more focused on the piece of glass I had lodged in my foot."
"It was obviously going to happen, I mean, to be fair, how could you NOT kiss him looking like that." Hope leaned forward and looked off into the distance.
"Mhm girl, I'm surprised you weren't doing the walk of shame home, you'd have been limping for a whole other reason." Shenice said. I put my head in my hands and decided it was best to ignore what she just said, best for everyone in the room.
"So, is Hercules a good kisser?" Hope asked. I started blushing and uncontrollably smiling even thinking about it. The way he caressed my face as he kissed me and held me with his arm around my waist was incredible.
"He's an incredible kisser." I tried to hide my beetroot red face. Something about talking about kissing with your sisters was a little uncomfortable, I guess it should be the safest of safe spaces to talk about these kinds of things but hey, I'm a newbie, it felt a little strange.
"Oooh, is someone a little shy?" Shenice said in a sing-song voice.
"I'm not shy..."
"Not shy my ass, have you seen the color your face has gone?" Hope pointed at me. I decided to change the subject.
"Should I invite Chad and Naya over?" I asked. I wanted to tell Naya how the date went, but I also really needed to talk to Chad. If Ryan was going to be around for much longer after last night, Chad needed to accept that and learn to stop being such a dick around him. I wasn't going to have the two best guys in my life fighting around me. When I asked the question, Shenice and Hope looked at each other in silence.
"What's wrong?"
"Ehhhh... you know I love Chad and Naya a LOT." Hope put a hand on the back of her neck and stared off thoughtfully, obviously trying to figure out how to put what she wanted to say.
"But?"
"But I also know that last night when Ryan arrived the tension in the room just went skyrocketed, and you know it too." Hope said, Shenice nodded in agreement.
"I don't know the guys as much as you two do obviously, but I felt the tension in the air and I know exactly what the problem is. I feel like I have some sort of sixth sense." Shenice began.
"You do not have a sixth sense." I rolled my eyes and relaxed on the couch.
"I saw it in the blonde tanned one's eyes, and I saw it in Hercules's eyes. Blondie has a thing for you and that's why he's acting like a bitter bitch." Shenice crossed her arms and leaned back, the expression on her face told me that she thought she had it all figured out. Hope looked puzzled.
"No, I don't think that's it." She chimed in and shook her head.
"That's DEFINITELY not it." I grimaced. Me and Chad? Nah. Why can't a girl be close friends with a guy without someone just assuming they secretly want to screw each other?
