last year, arthur shelby had got married to Linda and she became Linda Shelby. you did attend the wedding, but it was one of the hardest things to go to. you wanted to be the lucky girl that becomes a Shelby. you always loved arthur, you still do. but you have never dared tell him, because you know he's happy with Linda and really loves her.

you spent a lot of time at arthur's house, he was the shelby brother you were closest with. and you and linda got along as well. but it killed you to see them two together. you couldn't explain the feeling. your heart ached, you were jealous but you were happy for him. well you tried as hard as you could to be, but you struggled.

there was one day where you were feeling like absolute shit. you were staying at arthur's house and you you came downstairs in the morning to see linda on his lap kissing him passionately (yes, ✨passionately✨)
the jealously inside of you was building up and you tried to hold back tears.

'sorry am i interrupting something?'
'no, not at all' arthur pulled away from the kiss.
'i'm going to make a cup of tea then go back upstairs so carry on' you said, forcing a smile.

by now, the jealously inside was about to burst, but you forced yourself to keep it in. so you made the cup of tea as quick as you possibly could and ran upstairs. you slammed door behind you and just couldn't hold in the tears any longer. you were sobbing, maybe a bit too loud because a few minutes later you heard a knock on the door. you quickly wiped away your tears and tried to make it look like you hadn't been crying.

'come in' you shouted.

arthur opened the door, he could hear the pain in your voice. he knew something was up.

'y/n what's going on. if someone's hurt you i swear to god they'll be dead by tonight.'

'that's the problem arthur, i never told you this, but... but...' you stuttered
'but what y/n?'
'i'm in love with you arthur shelby. i can't help it! but i never told you because you seemed so happy with Linda. but it's fine. i'll be fine. don't get me wrong arthur i'm extremely happy for you. why wouldn't i be. your my bestfriend. but i've loved you for so long and it's painful to see you with Linda. but i promise, it's fine, i'm coping.'

you started to walk away, but you were stopped by a hand around your wrist.

'i love you too y/n  y/l/n. but yes, i'm happy with Linda and i don't know when that's going to change. i'm so sorry.'
'don't apologise, it's fine. you love her, i can tell. im just glad your happy.

he walked up to you and gave you a massive hug. you missed those hug. they were your favourite hugs. and you were going to try your best to be happy for your bestfriend.
