Frank was doing what he always did on bleak Sunday afternoons. He was downing brews he'd shoplifted from his dad's fridge and watching football. Usually Ray, his best friend from college and now roommate, was there with him to let out pent up testosterone via the game, but he was at work. Though he had the volume up loud, the hum of the television didn't drown out the much quainter 'ding' of his cellphone.

Looking down at the screen, he saw a notification from CYBERSYNONYMOUS

Your order has arrived: GW10!

There was new and improved AI bots now being shipped out to previous owners from the company CYBERSYNONYMOUS. The previous bots were faulty in several ways: self destructing, lagging when told commands, and confusion with identifying people. This could be troublesome when you're the owner of said AI bot and they won't listen to you because they don't recognize you. Instead, they'd just stand there and in a drone-like voice, repeat "I'm sorry- I cannot oblige," until you wanted to rip your own head off.

Frank stood from the couch and walked to the door, glancing back occasionally to make sure he wasn't missing any plays. As he opened the door, he saw the CYBERSYNONYMOUS delivery truck hurtling up the street, approaching his home. Frank wondered why they were going so fast, but decided his curiosity wasn't worth his life, so he stayed on his porch rather than wait by the sidewalk.

After screeching to a halt, a sweaty driver emerged from the truck and walked to the back. Frank walked closer when he was sure he wasn't just going to speed off and flatten him to the pavement. The driver, who's tag said "Bert", slid the metal back door open to reveal several dozen AI bots poised and prepared to be delivered.

They were lined up facing each other, not moving or speaking at all. However, their arms swayed slightly at the shifting of the truck. Their eyes peered dead ahead with no visible emotion dwelling within. Frank stared for a moment while Bert readied the paperwork, somewhat in awe and somewhat in discomfort.

After being handed a clipboard awaiting his signature, Frank watched Bert approach GW10, the bot that he had purchased. Bert removed the metal clasps from the ankles in place to prevent the machines from falling over. He then touched the inside of the bot's wrist, which caused it to blink "awake". Bert guided the bot out of the truck slowly to stand in front of frank.

It was a female bot with dark shoulder-length hair. Even though Frank knew it wasn't a human, it amazed him how the hair seemed to shine in the sun and how the hazel eyes looked so bright. The previous bots looked real, but this was bizarre; if he passed this thing on the street, he wouldn't give it a second thought.

"Damn, they really did upgrade these things, huh?" Frank joked, looking at Bert.

Bert nodded, looking back at the truck full of bots he'd been transporting. Beads of sweat were poised on the back of his neck, even though it was the middle of fall.

"You'd be surprised. I swear...these things are a little too real." Bert said in a hushed voice, as if they were listening to him and ready to strike at any moment.
