feeling brave, cadet?

chapter one

Today is your first day in the levi squad, the old members had recently passed away so you were unsure of your feelings towards being their replacement.

The new squad members included Eren, Mikasa, Jean, Historia, Connie, and Sasha. They all trained with you but you were never friends with them, you were always close to Thomas, who unfortunately didn't make it out the battle of Trost, you were no stranger to losing a loved one.

"Hey, you, am I boring you?" You snapped out of deep thought to see Captain Levi intensely stare at you, making you nervous.

"No captain". You nodded as he went back to his speech about certain rules we should follow. Our very first order from Captain Levi was to clean the house we were staying in for a bit, none of us opposed and we got right into it.

4 and a half hours later

After a few boringly long hours of cleaning we all sat down at the table exhausted, all except for one. Eren had just gotten done sweeping but somehow as he tried to sit with the rest of us, he tripped over himself, bumping hard into Captain Levi. Captain Levi was sitting at the table with us, drinking dark coffee inside a small tea cup but because of Eren, it slipped out of his hand and spilled everywhere. Before you could even think, you reached for the tea cup not wanting it to break, you caught it just in time. Captain Levi now had Coffee dripping from his chin and on his shirt, you reacted without thinking once again and instantly grabbed a napkin, gently starting wiping the coffee off from his face. It took a few seconds to realize how quiet the room became, you noticed Captain Levi staring at you in complete shock, almost not knowing how to react, you turned to face the others searching for reassurance but they all had the same expression on their face.

This...This definitely isn't how I planned my first day.

You slowly pulled your hand away and excused yourself from the table, barely a second later you saw everyone else RUSH to escape the room with the awkward atmosphere in it.

Moments later

You sat outside against the wall of the house, completely embarrassed.

"Oh... hey" Eren came from the corner waving, you were both already familiar with each others names. "Thanks for saving me back there" He sat down next to you.

Huh? What's he talking about?

"I know your actions had nothing to do with me but if it weren't for you, I would've never heard the end of it from Captain Levi, I guess he forgot it was my fault the incident all happened in the first place"

"Oh yeah no, don't worry about it" It stayed silent for few, it wasn't awkward, it was rather peaceful and nice having someone around.

"Oh y/n, you must've gotten coffee on yourself too when I bumped into him". He pointed at your shirt that had few spots of coffee stains.

"Yeah I must've, I should probably go shower then huh?" He nodded and you went back inside, you grabbed a towel and opened the bathroom door, and to your surprise, Captain Levi was inside.
