“Where were you?”
Elijah asks Ella, who had just entered home. He was sitting on the couch while watching TV.
“Its five in the evening. And school ends at two. What were you doing?” he narrows his eyes at her.
“Chill bro! I just went to the new café that had opened nearby!” she says while removing her shoes.
“With whom?”
“Natalie.”
“Oh….”
Ella plopped down beside him.
“What are you watching?”
“Movie.”
“What movie?” she tries to recognize what movie is going on.
“First, go freshen up and change. Then come back.” he pushes her of the couch.
“Yes sir!” she salutes and goes to her room.
He gets up and goes to the kitchen and grabs a bowl and fills it with chips and fills a bottle of water. He then comes and sits on the couch, continuing to watch the movie.
Ella came out sometime later, wearing a blue T-shirt and 3/4th leggings. She sat beside him.
“Okay! Tell me what are you watching now.”
“Couldn't figure out sis?” he laughs.
“Just tell me!” she whines. “And we're twins!! I'm not little sis!”
“Whatever. You're an hour younger than me! Changing topic, I am watching Ant-man.”
“Ant-man?” she looks at the TV.
“Oh I remember now! I do!” she smiles.
“Hmmm… My sister forgets movies. Wow!” he claps, being sarcastic.
“Hey!”she smacks his shoulder.
“Stop hitting! If you continue, no snacks!” he hugs the bowl of chips.
“Okay! I won't!” she raises her hands in defeat. Then she grabs a handful of chips and shoves it in her mouth.
“I won't eat all of it! Stop eating like a pig!” he exclaims.
“I'll eat however I want! What's that to you?!” she retorts.
“Oh my God! Will you both stop bickering?! I need peace when I reach home!”
Both of them look to the door and see their mother putting her bag on the side table and removes her shoes. Elijah looks at the clock.
*6:00! Did we spend so much time bickering?*
Both of them go to their mom and take her bags which had snacks and groceries.
“Ma what did you get?” Ella asks.
“It's there in the bag. Check it dear. I'll go and freshen up.”
Ella sits on the couch and dumps all the contents of the snacks bag.
There were instant soups, biscuits, chips and chocolates. Ella squealed.
Mom comes out and sits on the couch, next to Ella.
“Go and keep the vegetables in the fridge and the groceries in the kitchen.” she tells Ella.
Ella takes the bags and heads to the kitchen.
“How was work ma?” Elijah asks her while putting back the snacks in the bag. He the keeps it on the coffee table before him.
“It was okay! Nothing much done today.” his mother smiled.
