"No Fred." Roger stated. "Come on Rog! It'll be funny!" Freddie begged. "There is no way I'm going to audition to be the school mascot." Roger said. "Please! I'll pay you, I'll get you new shoes, I'll do anything!" Freddie pleaded. "No. The bodysuit is ugly. Bears are supposed to be cute and fluffy. Our mascot has dead eyes and matted fur. I wouldn't be suprised if someone died in that suit." Roger said with an eyeroll.
"Please." Freddie repeated. "No." Roger stated. "There is no way I'm going to do it."
He did it.
Freddie dragged Roger to the school gym and made him audition.
There was a plastic fold out table with one teacher sitting behind it. Mr. Miami. He was the head coach of the basketball team.
Freddie smacked his hand on Roger's shoulder. "Go get them tiger." Freddie whispered. Roger rolled his eyes and walked up to Mr. Miami. "Hello Mr. Taylor. Good to see you. Auditioning?" Mr. Miami asked. "Sadly." Roger muttered. "The suit is over there, put it on and come back over here." Mr. Miami instructed.
Roger put on the hideous bear mascot that was slightly too big. The big, heavy mask was placed on top of Roger's head. His vision was slightly distorted.
Roger waddled back to the center of the auditorium and stood in front of Mr. Miami. "You can do it Rog!" Freddie yelled from the bleachers. Roger rolled his eyes even though Freddie couldn't see it.
"Alright Mr. Taylor. The costume is slightly big on you, but I hope that's not a problem. I need you to run around the gym 3 times. This way I can see if you are mobile enough in the suit." Mr. Miami said. Roger sighed and started running around the gym.
He started getting sweaty halfway through his 2nd lap. Once Roger finished he was breathing quickly. "Good job Mr. Taylor. Next, 15 jumping jacks." Roger quietly groaned and started his jumping jacks.
The jumping jacks weren't as bad as the running, but it still was a pain in the ass. "Nicely done. Pushups, give me 10." Mr. Miami instructed.
Roger got on the floor and started his push ups. Roger can barely pick up a dog without being in pain. So this was a pain in the ass.
Roger popped up and now he was full on sweating. "Alright Mr. Taylor. I can say right now that you pass. Our next game is tomorrow night at 6. It's a home game. We need you to come early, so come around 4:30. The suit will be here for you. Thank you Mr. Taylor." Mr. Miami said.
Roger took off the mask, "Wait, what?" Roger asked. His long hair was covered in his own sweat and his face was bright red. "You pass. See you tomorrow Mr. Taylor." Mr. Miami got out of his chair and left without saying another word.
Fredddie cheered and ran down the bleachers. "I told you so!" Freddie cheered. "I didn't want to be the mascot though! I just did it so you could shut up. Fuck." Roger sighed and quickly took off the bear suit.
