"Are we seriously doing security for a concert? Let alone, is our base seriously hosting a concert?" I asked Ajax after ending the call from the admiral.

"Aren't we a bit... overqualified for that? We jump out of space shuttles for fuck sakes." Zander threw his hands up as Ajax just shook his head.

"Apparently she's some big shot and we aren't scheduled for a drop or take off anytime soon." Ajax secured his helmet on his head. "Let's just treat it as another mission and get it over with. We're the best of the best, so of course he'd choose us."

"Would you stop being so professionally positive for once?" Keenan rolled her eyes before putting her helmet on as well. "Are we walking or dropping?"

"I want to drop. We haven't yet this week." I huffed.

"Probably because Zander got us in trouble." Ajax mumbled through our private coms.

"It's not my fault that the boss is a hard-ass who can't take a joke." Zander threw a bullet at Ajax and it bounced off of his chest plate.

Ajax stared at Zander for a second before looking at Keenan. "I am calling for a drop just to make our point."

"Our point being?" I attached my pistols to my hips before securing my knife to the magnet on my shoulder.

"That we should be up there and not down here with a celebrity that should be thanking us for stopping a ship from coming down here and blowing half of the planet up two weeks ago." Ajax grumbled and put his rifle on his back. "Alex, call for a drop-shuttle."

I nodded my head. "Contact A.S.." I followed Ajax out of the room with Keegan and Zander on my heels.

"Air support. Whatcha need Sentinel Alex?" The usual shit head answered the coms system.

"Get your shit together soldier or I'll get it together for you if you keep answering with disrespect." I snapped and I could hear him take a sharp breath in. "I need a drop shuttle with a pilot to be ready in eight minutes. Get it done. No questions."

"Yes ma'am." The shit head scrambled and closed the coms.

"You just scared that boy half to death." Ajax chuckled and lead the way to the airstrip.

"He should know better than to treat a Sentinel like that. If I get another 'whatcha need' from him I'll punt his skinny ass over a fence." I grumbled and scuffled my metal boots along the concrete flooring.

"Or you could relax and take a chill pill. That's always an option." Zander acted like he was being reasonable.

Even though he couldn't see my face through my visor, I glared at him without missing a step.

"He'll learn one way or another." Ajax shrugged and waited for the guard to give us clearance. "You gonna ask us for our I.D. again or do the suits give it away this time?" He showed his attitude which caused the four of us to laugh together when the guard's face turned pale in horror.

The guard opened the door and walked away from his post in either embarrassment or fear.

Everyone rushed to the sides of the hallways as we walked to the air station. Some see us as gods and some see us as demons. Either way, we're highly respected.

"A drop shuttle is waiting for your disposal in bay wing C. Sergeant Mitchel will be your pilot today." An airstrip worker walked up to us with his tablet.

"I like Mitchel. He does as asked and doesn't question it nor tell on us." Zander walked up beside Ajax. "Where are we dropping? The primary target arrives in ten minutes and we're supposed to meet her there."
