True friendship is a precious gift,
The right friend will build and uplift,
With you they wish to spend their time,
One who won't isn't even worth a dime.
A true friend will be a rock to help you stand,
But when that rock is weathered by the sand,
Do not flee, give that rock plaster and concrete,
And it will be quite grateful the next time you meet.
Surround yourself with those who draw out your best,
Settle not for the dishonest nor those who cause unrest,
Find yourself right company, for whether you know or not,
Those closest to your heart, they can either perfect or rot.
