Exclusive chapter

This is an exclusive chapter since y'all deserve it.It's not related to the main plot but it's Stepril.

    2 years back,

    "OMG,did you know that Luke got rejected by April?" Blair burst out and I just stood there,leaning against the wall,unbothered.I don't know how she has a lot of energy.

    "Oh right..." Blair trailed and looks back at April from afar.

     "It's alright,Blair." I replied,looking at April as well.

     I'm mad at her but I also don't.It's weird.

"Don't you have debate with her later?" Blair mentioned and I nodded.

"I hope it's not as bad as last year." I commented,thinking about all the guys I've kissed.

"Maybe this year you'll be champion." Blair nudged me but I rolled my eyes.I don't intend to be champion for anything this year,I just wanna focus on what really matters.

"Good luck because she's heading this way." Blair left before I could even blink.

"Sterl,don't be late and please don't ruin this for me." She sounded desperate but also convincing.She walked away afterwards.

This will be fun...

  "I want you to be in your best debate mode.We can do this guys,I believe in y'all." Ellen cheered on but I wasn't in the mood to be really optimistic.

   As always April gave out her collected binders and
gave us this whole speech on the debate.We were dismissed and start filing out to our designated rooms to meet our opponents.

    I wasn't feeling scared nor excited.Just numb,I mean I've been feeling like it lately.

     I won a few rounds and finally it was my second last debate.

     It was with Wu this time.April was apparently outside,looking over me,itching for me to win.Like she always do.

    "I think these causes shouldn't be up for debate.This is basic human rights that we're talking about,aren't we allowed to strike out and protest to the government if our privileges are taken away?" I said and time was running out.

   "How about the government? There are in a even tighter situation where they have to -" The time watch beeps and I made it to the next round.I can't believe it.

    April walks into the room and hugs me out of nowhere.

     "I.." I pulled away and she cleared her throat.
   
     "Sorry but congrats.We can finally bring a medal back." April was still smiling from head to toe.

     I still don't understand her needs for a win.

    "You're against Steve,a new player.He's pretty clean if you ask me however he did have a toxic relationship that ended a few months ago.Perhaps you could stoop..."

       "I don't know...April.I mean he could still be thinking about it.About her." I concluded,looking at her and she cleared her throat.

      "Nonetheless,I still think we can bring him down." April said confidently.

      Both of us walked to the hall for the final debate and I found Steve.How did I find him? From the crowd of people cheering his name.

      He winks at me and I rolled my eyes.

    "Boys..." I muttered and went up stage.

    The debate went on as minutes passes by.Steve was pretty good,he countered back with facts and supportive statements and sources.

   I don't see why he needs to be put down.April looks at me,signalling me to make a move now.

   So I did.Only that it wasn't for him,I did it for myself.Just like last year.

    "You make a good point..." I said and April stood up,glaring at me with her evil glance.I catched up with her,following her to a random room.

"I can't believe you..." April looked at me,furiously.

"What? That I didn't mention his toxic relationship? It's his personal life,April." I protested and she rolled her eyes.

"You're always stooping low for me but not others.I mean I still can't believe..." April trailed.

"Cmon,you deserved it..He didn't do anything wrong." I spit back and she knew what I meant.

"Sterl..I just-" Both of us was just shouting at each other until we're so close to one another.

April looks up,staring at my lips and back to my eyes.I did the same and both of us instinctively smashed our lips together.

I have craved it since the day we broke up and this feels amazing.Her soft lips moving with mine and her hand stroking my neck,pulling me closer to her.

My hair was cascading a curtain between us,making it like our own little secret.I cupped her face and kissed her softly.

"I..maybe we should..." April pulled away but I didn't care.This is the only time we'll ever kiss.Ever.

I just want to taste her.

I silenced her by sliding my tongue in our kiss and she moans a little.She abruptly pulled away this time,and I should've known better.

  "Someone could come in and catch us,Sterl." She pointed out and I surveyed the room.I don't think anyone would want to come here at this timing.

  "That's your part,remember? Lock and kiss." I joked but April seems pretty worried.I moved away from her and fidget with my hands.

   "I'm sorry,Sterl.I do miss you and everything that ever happened but let's forget this ever happened.At all." She states and I was back to sad Sterl for the day.

   "Bye." She left the room and as always,it hurts me every time she leaves.

    We never spoken of it at all and every time we ever meet is during classes.It's just not the same.
