Chapter Four - Heart Beat

"Lucy!" Ryuu said, running towards her.
Her face gaped open as she saw his cheek.
"Who did that?!?" She yelled, stunned.
Then he finally caught up to her.
"Why... *pant* Do you... *pant* Ask..?" He replied.
"It's like your second day here and you're already scoring kisses!!!" She yelled.
"And you wouldn't believe who from!" He replied.
"Who?" She asked, suddenly getting calm and listening more carefully.
"Erza!" He replied.
"Yeah right..." She said, "may as well just put lipstick on your face and say that.
"No really! I swear!" He said, heart beating rapidly.
Huh? Why am I so angry about this? I feel so aggravated to hear this... What's happening? Lucy thought to herself.
"Well uh... Why did she kiss you? She only just met you and you two are in love? That's bull shit!" She yelled furiously.
"I don't love her... She just kissed me out of the blue and I thought that since you were trying to get us together, or that's what it seemed like, you'd want to know she kissed me..." He replied.
"Oh... So then youre still not thinking of dating her?" She said, somewhat excited.
"Nope!" He replied cheerfully.
"Yes!" She whispered to herself.
"Yes? Do you perhaps have a crush on me..? Sweet Angel?" He said curiously.
"Uh... No way! And what's with that weird nickname?" She said awkwardly.
"Well it's a cute name that suits you cause you're sweet and delicate and you're really beautiful like an angel! So I called you that... Why?" He asked.
Lucy's face instantly went red and she started to freak out, trying to hide her blushing face.
"Lucy?" He asked.
"Yeah?" She said, turning around quickly with her hands over her face.
"Hm... I think you're more beautiful when I see your whole face... So let's put these away..." He said, moving her hands slowly away from her face, "And I stand corrected! Even more beautiful than an angel!"
"Mmm..." She mumbled, looking at him.
"Hm? What'd you say?" He asked.
"I... Uh... Nothing!" She said firmly.
Why can't I say it? This is so stupid! Why won't the right words just come out of my mouth!?! Lucy thought to herself furiously.
Ryuu could practically read her mind by the face she made when getting angry.
"You're so cute when you get all angry like that... I'm sorry if you think I'm weird but do you mind me asking if you like me again?" He asked curiously.
"Uh... I uh... Just..." She stuttered.
Aww screw it! She thought.
Lucy grabbed him and kissed the cheek that hadn't already been kissed by Erza. There was punch on a counter meters away that fell onto the floor as it happened. Lucy then blushed heavily and ran off to her friends to calm down.
What the heck? Why am I getting all these kisses? I only just got here! Ryuu said nervously.
(And Then...)
"Hey!" Said a familiar voice walking over to Ryuu.
"Huh?" Ryuu asked, turning around to see Mirajane in front of him.
"You're blushing! Heehee... Who kissed you? One on each cheek too! What a heartthrob!" She said cheerfully.
"Uh... Yeah... I feel so weird right now... Erza and Lucy both kissed me... My heart is beating so fast..." He said, feeling his chest.
"Really?" She asked, grabbing his hand, "I'll check..."
She held his wrist up and put her fingers on it. She could easily feel the fast blood flow.
"You're right!" She said cheerfully, "But there's a more accurate way to test it you know..."
"Really? How?" He asked.
"Well... Put your hands here..." She said, directing his hands.
He put one hand each on her shoulder and on her hip.
"Uh... How do you check the pulse again?" He asked awkwardly.
"Like this..." She said, leaning towards him and grabbing his head.
When Ryuu figured out hapenning he was shocked as Mirajane closed her eyes and kissed him. His eyes were wide open. Since they were, he saw a shady character walk out of the hall but way too stunned to investigate. The kiss was sweet. However, this felt a lot different considering she kissed him on the lips. After pulling away she wiped her mouth and looked at Ryuu. He was practically paralysed. His eyes were wide open and she felt his heart beating like crazy.
"See? I can feel your heartbeat... And... Heehee! I kissed you!" She said, smiling.
"I... Uh... Wow..." Ryuu stuttered.
"Now you've got three kisses! Heehee! I bet you could get more with the way you act around girls! You ARE the cutest guy around! And I bet that if you can get a kiss from me, Lucy AND Erza... There's no problem with the other girls... I promise!" She said cheerfully.
"Um... I need to go to bed actually... I think my heart's going to explode..." He said, walking off to the dorm rooms.
"Okay then! Bye babe!" She said.
There is DEFINATELY something going on between the girls... What is it? They are all falling for me... This is so embarrassing... I'll see if it's the same tomorrow... Ryuu thought, walking into his dorm room.
