Justin's POV
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! The alarm clock on the end table blared. I gave it a good smack. SLAM! Clatter! It fell to the floor. I sat up, and rubbed my eyes. I yawned very loudly. I grabbed my glasses from my end table, and put them on. I stood up, and placed my beat slippers on.
I went to my closet, and wore my robe. It's red and white. It displayed the flag on the front pocket, and the back.
"Canadian pride..." I chuckled to myself.
I slipped it on, and headed downstairs.
"To the kitchen!" I shouted, while singing the Batman theme, down the stairs.
Once there, I ran the water, and filled the coffee pot. Once it was filled enough, I poured it into the coffee machine, and turned it on. While that's warming up, I'll check the news. I thought. Before I turned it on, I asked "What's the news today?" I turned it up, when the news reporter was saying blank words.
".... in other news, there has been an incident in the White House."
I gasped, and leaned forward.
"What happened, Rick?" The female news reporter asked, concerned.
"The President, Don Jackson, is currently being threatened. We have live footage if the scene, from one of our cameraman. Lets watch."
The screen showed the presidents desk, with the President standing beside a keyboard. Another man with a gun, is pointing it, and threatening him.
"I'll never do it!" He shouted.
"Launch the nukes, or your wife gets her brains splattered all over the wall. Now enter the command!" He demanded. He wore a ski mask. Another man stood beside him. He looked like an ambassador. Which country I wonder?
The president looked to his wife, and back to the keyboard. "I'm sorry, honey." He said, entering commands, into a computer.
"It's all right. You're doing the right thing." She said, tearing up.
"Am I really doing the right thing?" He asked, entering the last command. A button appeared, and he pressed it.
"Fools!" The man called, shooting his wife. BANG! "No!" He shouted, before being shot as well. BANG!
He aimed the gun towards the camera, and shot it, making it appear staticky.
I ran towards the window, and looked around. I saw a missile in the distance, heading towards the sky.
"No..." I said, before heading to my room.
I packed a backpack full of clothes, tools, and packaged food. I opened my closet, and found my long sword, Dragon's Tooth. The handle is dark grey, with her name engraved in it. The blade is silver, and shiny. The scabbard is brown, and has a silver circle near the top of it. I also found my armour. I wore it under my clothing. I strapped my sword on my left hip, and wore my dark brown trench oat. I grabbed my hat, and wore it. I also grabbed my Beretta 9mm pistol, and strapped the holster around my right hip.
I heard a cha cha tune in my pocket.
I checked my phone, and had a FaceTime request. From Courtney.
I answered it, and looked at the screen which said, loading...
After a minute, I said "Hey, Courtney!"
"Hey. Have you seen the news?"
"Yeah, I did..." I was cut off, by the ground shaking roughly. RUMBLE!!!
"Justin!!" Courtney shouted.
"I'm still here, hold on." I took a look outside. A mushroom cloud could be seen in the distance. The sound wave hit the glass, and knocked me onto my back.
"OOOF!!" I cried. After a minute, I stood up.
"Holy crap...." I whispered.
"Hello?" I looked at her again.
"What happened?"
"You better look for a bomb shelter, Courtney..." I said, concerned.
"Why?" She asked, sounding worried.
"The president launched all of the world's nukes. I'll try and head to Austrailia. I know someone who can transport me there. Get in a bomb shelter, if you can. Ok?" I told her, trying hard to stay calm.
"Okay. I will. Be safe."
"You too." I said, ending the conversation.
Good thing I live on the second floor. I thought, before locking the door behind me. I walked down the hall, and walked down the stairs. When I reached the lobby, I noticed that everybody was gone. Nobody around, not even the janitor. It was a mess as well. I walked behind the front desk, and looked for the money. After about a minute or two, I found $507.45 cents, and put it in my wallet. I went outside, and began to walk.
Gunshots could be heard everywhere, along with screams, crying, and the stench of death. Bodies could be seen, people smashed windows, and cars were wrecked.
"RREAAAGGGHHH!" A robber screamed, swinging a bat at me.
I leaned back, just dodging the end of the bat, and rolled backwards. I drew my blade, and slashed his bat in half.
He looked at his bat, and threw it away. He pulled out a machete, and slashed at me. I dodged, and cut his hand off. Blood splattered, and he began crying in agony.
"YOU CUT OFF MY F***ING HAND! I OUGHTA..." I punched his jaw. WHACK!
I looted his body and found some ammo, $75, and a Combat Knife.
"You won't need this.." I said, walking away. I looked back, and kept walking. "The world has changed." I muttered.
