doyoung approached yuta a few days later with a question just begging to be asked.

"what do you think of daehyun?"

the question caught yuta by surprise. he looked up from his phone and raised his eyebrows. "huh?"

doyoung raised an eyebrow in return. "what do you think of daehyun?" he repeated.

"oh," yuta smiled, "he's cool. he's talented and very easy to get along with, not to mention he's adorable."

doyoung smiled in satisfaction. "are you falling for him?"

"what? no." yuta's wide eyes stared at doyoung's mischievous ones. "i hardly know him yet."

"but there is a possibility, right?"

"stop bothering yuta, doyoung." jaehyun shook his head with a smile on his face as he approached the two.

"i just wanna know if my best friend can finally be happy with someone."

"give it time. if something happens then it happens."

yuta looked between the two, "do i get a say in this?"

"no."

daehyun replayed the choreography in his mind before starting to execute it. he was doing great until he misstepped halfway through and stopped altogether.

he sighed and slowed his breathing to calm himself down. he looked at himself in the mirror of the practice room.

"you can do this. you're a good dancer and you can do this." he took a deep breath and started the music again, hearing his voice fill the room as he sang on the recording. he started dancing again, ignoring the uninvited person that entered the room in the middle of it.

the music ending left a silence in the room that was only interrupted by daehyun's heavy breathing and the sound of clapping. he turned around and faced the person with a breathless grin.

"hi, yeosang."

yeosang smiled at his friend. perks of working under the same company was the fact that they saw each other a lot. either yeosang would visit daehyun's practices or daehyun would visit ateez's practices.

"it's been a while since you were here, dae."

the brunet nodded at the blond. "yeah, i just needed a few days. i'm alright though."

yeosang raised an eyebrow at him. "are you sure? it wouldn't feel right to bully you if you weren't feeling okay."

"i'm sure, yeo. i'm fine."

"in that case, your dancing could use some work."

daehyun chuckled and shook his head. "thanks, wanna practice together?"

yeosang nodded, "teach me the choreography."

the next three hours were spent teaching yeosang the dance and then practicing it. wooyoung and san joined them and were eventually followed by the other members, all of them wanting to learn the choreography to daehyun's new song.
