Then next I woke up to blood testing and a lot of talking with Emery.
I felt as if, she had never left school, and that we were still really close like we used to be.
"You're free to go Mr. Roby." Susan said.
"Can I please stay, anyways."
I said not wanting to leave Emery.
"I'm sorry but you can't. You need to get home Sean. You're parents might be worried sick."
"Fine." I said. And headed toward the door to get discharged.
"Wait!" Emery said.
I turned around and looked at her beautiful face, with her brown hair flowing around her face.
"Yes?" I asked.
"It was great to see you." She smiled. And Susan rushed me out.
"Did you know me and Emery were in a car crash together?"
"No I didn't." She said.
"When we finished with the paper work I was free to go.
I called my best friend Dawson, and asked him to come and pick me up no questions asked.
Of course he did as he was told and dropped me off at my house.
"Thanks man." I said.
"No problem. Practice tomorrow, 7 am."
"Shit. Today's Sunday."
"Yeah bro."
"Okay well I'll see you then."
"Laters." And he drove off.
I wasn't ready to face my parents.
Hopefully they weren't home.
My parents didn't really give a care about what I did. They just didn't like to pay for my hospital bills, was all.
I checked the garage. No car, meaning they weren't home.
Speaking of cars I need to go get mine for Spencer's house.
He lived right down the block I guess I could visit later.
I walked into my house and on the kitchen table was a note that said. 'If you happen to show up while we're gone, we'll be back in a month. Took a vacation we've been planning or about 2 years now, and you decide to disappear. See you when we get back.'
I laughed. Awesome parents.
I went up to my room and chilled listening to music.
After I went to Spencer's house and picked up my truck I went to bed.
My alarm clock jolted me awake at 6:30. I got up and changed into my football gear. And packed a set of extra clothes.
When I got to school, there was an unusual buzz about a new girl. Well a not so new girl. I didn't really care, at all actually because Emery had been in my mind all night.
Being the 1st sting quarter back, came with no perks. I had to be the example for the whole team basically.
It sucked. Actually maybe the only good thing about it was getting to skip class on game days.
Which today was one of those day.
Dawson came up to me after I had finished showering and asked me. "Did you hear who's back?"
"No." I said drying my hair with a towel.
"Emery!" He said batting his eyes.
Back? I had to find her.
I finished talking with Dawson, changed and headed over to the main school building.
"Hey Sean!" Sherry and Delaney said at the same time.
I hated them. They were literally the most stuck up girls in our school. I wouldn't be surprised if the world.
"Not now." I said and continued walking.
They scowled, and walked away.
They literally both wanted me. The funny thing is I didn't want them. So I just rejected them at any chance.
I was practically running now looking for her. When I finally spotted her.
She was surrounded by a bunch of girls, she looked as if she was crying.
I walked over to her and sure enough she was. The girls that I assumed were making her cry were Delaney and Sherry.
"Emery? Is everything okay?"
"Yeah." She said wiping her tears.
I walked over to here and hugged her.
"Promise?" I whispered.
"No." She replied in a whisper.
"Let's go."
I took her hand and walked her over to my truck.
"Where are we going?"
She asked me.
"My house if that alright with you."
She smiled. "It's totally fine."
