Denki and Shinso had been walking around the campus for about a half hour now, still holding hands. Denki was occasionally glancing at Shinso from out of the corner of his eyes. This time, Denki looked as Shinso looked at him. He quickly looked away, pretending he wasn't looking.
"Caught ya," Shinso said with a smile.
"What do you mean? I was looking at something else" Denki lied.
"Mmhm, of course" Shinso said.
"Well you looked at me too" Denki said, attempting to defend himself.
"And you wouldn't have known if you didn't look at me" Shinso protested.
Denki chuckled. "This is silly,"
"Is there even a way for either of us to win?" Shinso asked.
"Nah, probably not" Denki said.
Once again there was a comfortable silence between the two males. They headed in the direction of the school gate and left the campus. Neither of them knew where they were headed, they just went wherever the sidewalk took them. Noon rolled around, and Denki was getting hungry.
"Do you wanna get something to eat?" He asked Shinso.
Shinso shrugged. "Sure"
They walked to a seven eleven, but when they reached the door, Shinso halted. He looked out of the corner of his eye, he saw two figures in hoodies. Denki looked at him.
"Hm? You okay?" He asked obviously.
"Yeah.. Just, those two give me bad vibes." He said, nodding in their direction.
The shorter figure was holding an open briefcase and showing the taller figure something inside it. From what Shinso could see, the shorter one had ash blonde bangs, and a pale face. She was wearing a short uniform skirt. The taller one had a mask over his mouth, high up on his face, up to his eyes. Messy black hair was sticking out of the hood. Their conversation was inaudible, they were at a distance. The taller one pulled a knife out of the briefcase, shook his head, and put it back.
Shinso's eyes widened. He shoved Denki inside the convenience store, and rushed in behind him.
"Toshi? What's the matter?" Denki asked, a hint of fear in his voice.
"Did either of them look familiar to you?" Shinso whispered.
"I could barely see their faces, why??"
The door opened, and the shorter figure removed her hood. Denki looked at her for a few seconds, and recognised her. He didn't at first because she looked different with her hair down, but it was Himiko Toga. He gasped, and ducked behind a shelf.
Shinso looked at her, then ducked down with him. "Is that Toga, the really crazy girl?" He whispered. Denki nodded quickly.
The taller figure removed his mask and hood. It was none other than Dabi. Toga was skipping through the store, swinging her briefcase back and forth with her movements. She paused right before turning the corner where the boys were hiding. She ducked down.
"Whatcha doin?! Dabi and I could sure use your help!" she exclaimed.
Denki yelped, startled by her. Shinso jumped up, pulling Denki up with him. Dabi had snuck up behind them.
"Don't move a muscle, or you'll have a fried friend." He held his hand around Shinso's neck Denki froze just as he was about to activate his quirk. "You're from UA, aren't you?" He said calmly, his voice rhaspy.
"What do you want?" Shinso asked sternly.
Toga put per finger on her chin and thought. She opened her briefcase and pulled out a small knife.
Dabi grabbed the boys.
"I asked you a question. What do you want?" Shinso asked, remaining calm.
"Hero bait." Dabi said.
Shinso smirked. "Lower your hands, Dabi." He had activated his quirk.
Dabi let go of Shinso and just stood there. Toga looked pissed at him.
"Why'd you let go?!" She yelled. There was no response, he just stared forwards mindlessly. She walked up and smacked him, to snap him out of it. Dabi lunged at Shinso, who jumps out of the way. Dabi then grabbed Denki and darted out the door. Toga tried to stab Shinso, but only managed to cut his cheek and part of his lip.
"Toga, let's just take this one, he's enough!" Dabi yelled from outside. The store clerk was watching from behind the counter, and he had called for the pros. Once the villains left the store, he ran to Shinso.
"Are you alright!?" he asked frantically.
Shinso was panicking. "They got Denki!" They fucking got Denki!!" Shinso cried out. He didn't care about his face, which was gushing with blood. He cried, and ran out the door attempting to chase them. He ran around town for hours looking for him, his tears seeped into his wound, the pain from the salt causing him to wince here and there. He was so tired, and felt like he was going to collapse. Then his phone started ringing. He pulled it out of his pocket. It was Aizawa. He answered.
"H-hey," he said weakly.
"Hitoshi, where the hell are you?" Aizawa asked, his voice slightly raised.
"Uhm.. I don't really know.. I'm in a ditch right now.. Almost outside of Musutafu" Shinso said. Aizawa could hear in his voice that he was crying.
"I know Kaminari is missing, we're working on an investigation. Please come back to UA."
"No! I wanna find him!"
"Hitoshi we-" Aizawa was cut off.
"Stop! Look, if I had just let them catch me instead he would be safe! I need to help find him! I need to protect him!" Shinso yelled.
"Come back to UA and tell me what you know! Don't raise your voice at me!" Aizawa said sternly. He cleared his throat and sighed.
"Jesus, you're not my dad." He muttered. Wait.. Uh.. Can you come Get me? I feel like I'm gonna collapse," Shinso requested. I
"I'm on the way." Aizawa said and hung up.
Shinso felt dizzy; whether it have been from blood loss, all the running, the heat, or all of those. He had a pounding headache from crying, and he felt like he was spinning.
He woke up on Aizawa's back. He was carrying him back to UA, and they were now only 2 miles away.
"H-huh? when did you- was I asleep?" Shinso asked tiredly.
"I found you conked out in a ditch," Aizawa said flatly.I
Shinso frantically looked down at the hoodie Denki let him borrow. Thankfully, only a little dirt got on it. The next ten minutes were silent.
"Is that his jacket?" Aizawa asked out of nowhere. "I see you keep shuffling to brush dust off, and it doesn't look like something you'd own."
"Mhm.. It's Denki's." Shinso responded.
"You love him, don't you?" Aizawa asked.
"What does it mean to love somebody?" Shinso asked, hugging himself and gripping the jacket tightly.
"You get this funny feeling in your stomach when they're around, and you kinda always crave their presence, and you embrace their flaws and shit." Aizawa explained.
"I kissed him this morning, he kissed me yesterday, like I did it because I really wanted to for some reason,"
"What was one of the most important things I told you when I started training you?" Aizawa questioned.
"Never fall in love with a loud blonde?" Shinso answered.
"It's one of the best worst mistakes you'll ever make."
