14. Distance

Toga's blade had struck Denki's shoulder, and had left a large wound. Denki cried out in pain and fear, and Shinso was screaming through the tape that covered his mouth. Shinso soon became desperate as the blade then struck Denki again; he tried to bite a hole in the tape. He eventually succeeded in biting it just enough to move his mouth.

"Toga!! Why are you being so torturous?!" Shinso screamed, praying she would respond.

She giggled, and raised her blade again. "It's just what I do! Wait! Damn y-!" She realized she had made a foolish mistake.

Before she could strike him again, she was under his control.

"Untie me." Shinso commanded, his voice was shaky.

Toga stepped towards him, and extended her hands, but Dabi grabbed them.

"Stop it! What are you doing?!" He yelled.

"Stab him." Shinso said, without thinking that it was indirect murder.

"Wait, Hitoshi! You can't make her do that-" Denki cried, but before Shinsi realized what he was doing would get him In a lot of trouble, Toga swung around and stabbed him in the arm.

Dabi winced, and stopped trying to hold her back. He put his hand over the wound.

"Untie us now." Shinso said.

Toga did as she was told, and undid their restraints. Shinso pulled the remaining tape off of his face, and he grabbed Denki's hand. He pulled him out of the building.

As the two ran, Denki's hand seemed stiff in Shinso's, like he was afraid.

"Why would you do something like that?! Stabbing someone doesn't make us any better than them.." Denki questioned.

"I had to do what I had to do to get you out of there. I know it might not have been morally right, but his injuries aren't horrible. It was only his arm." Shinso said calmly.

"I don't want you stabbing people or making people stab people!! What if the pros found out? What if Aizawa found out?!" Denki yelled, pulling away from his hand and stopping dead in his tracks.

Shinso stopped and turned to him. "What are you- you aren't going to tell him right.."

"No.. but- this is just conflicting okay?! It's just scary, I didn't know you could bring yourself to do something like that.." Denki said, tearing up.

Shinso took a few steps back. "I didn't wanna make you feel afraid.. Aizawa's is nearby, please go there and tell him the Villains are looking for you. Be safe." He ran away before Denki could stop him.

Denki stood in the middle of the empty street, and just stared as he ran the opposite direction. His wound hurt, but all he could think about was what Shinso had made Toga do. Once Shinso was out of sight, he walked to Aizawa's house, and quietly knocked on his door.

Aizawa answered, but was taken aback when he saw Denki, alone without Shinso, and in tears with a stab wound on his shoulder.

"K-Kaminari?! What happened? Get in here." Aizawa opened the door all the way, and took him inside. He sat him down on his sofa.

"Wait right here. I'm getting first aid." Aizawa said and walked to his kitchen. He opened a cabinet, and pulled out a little box, then made his way back to the living room.

He sat down beside him, and pulled out some gauze, cotton balls, and peroxide.

"Can you take off your jacket?" Aizawa asked.

Denki slowly slid it off without saying a word. He had on a long sleeved shirt underneath, so he slid out of that as well.

"Tell me what happened." Aizawa said, and began cleaning his wound.
