The sun was starting to set when Hiron limped next to the tall building he saw when he was going toward the gorge. He looked at it, exhausted. It was way taller than his den, and it was made from red stone. There were a few holes in the red stone. He padded closer to them and realized he could look inside. He tried to get in, but blinked when he couldn't. He pawed around the hole. There's something here blocking the way in, but I can't see it.. I don't understand..

Hiron limped away, his wounds burning. He passed the tall building and looked back at it, and then he saw an entrance. He was about to turn around and go in, when he saw a movement there. He froze. Someone lives there.. I'd better not go, then.

He looked in front of him and let out a shocked meow. Ahead of him, past a moor was a forest. He suddenly remembered what his father told him about Clan cats who live in the forest and aren't friendly to loners. He wanted to back down and run back home.

Wait.. I don't have a home anymore. Hiron realized and shivered, looking at the forest. After a moment, he shook his head and turned around, padding away. I don't want to get killed.

He raised his head and looked around, confused where he was. He saw the building in front of him, but it was far away. The forest was somewhere behind him, the leaves from the trees rustling. Right now, Hiron was on a moor, which stretched between the forest and the building. The gorge wasn't far away from him, either. If he turned to the left and took a few steps ahead, then he would reach the edge.

Hiron limped toward a small rock and jumped on it, grunting. He then licked his wounded shoulder. He flinched, but continued to lick it, determined to stop the bleeding.

Suddenly, he heard paw steps. Hiron stopped and looked in front of him, squinting his eyes. ''M-Meadow?''

Hiron flinched when someone jumped next to him. He let out a screech and fell on his back.

 ''Hi!''

Hiron looked up and saw a small, black-and-cream she-kit. She had a cream head, her black fur was covered with cream spots, and her green eyes were round with curiosity.

''P-Please don't kill me!'' Hiron exclaimed and closed his eyes shut, shivering.

The kit tilted her head and jumped down. ''Why would I kill you?''

Hiron opened his eyes and looked at her, shivering. ''Y-You're a Clan cat, aren't you?''

''Obviously.'' She meowed and raised one of her front paws and licked it, then blinked when she saw how messy Hiron's fur was. ''Woah, are loners always this messy?''

''Huh? Oh, no, I've just had a bad day.'' Hiron meowed and tried to hide his wounds from her.

''Right.. well, I'm Cougarkit!'' She purred, flicking her tail. ''Who are you?''

 ''Uh, I'm Hiron.'' He meowed.

''Hiron? That's a weird name.'' Cougarkit blinked, then stretched. ''Anyway, it's getting dark. Shouldn't you go home?''

''Uh, I don't have a home, actually.'' Hiron whispered, sighing. Not anymore.

Cougarkit stared at him, wide-eyed. ''Oh, I'm sorry to hear that.. Hey! Maybe you could join WindClan!''

 Hiron blinked. ''Join.. what Clan?''

''WindClan!'' Cougarkit puffed out her chest. ''I live there, and it's amazing! I'm sure Rosestar would let you join!''

 ''Rosestar?'' Hiron tilted his head.

''Oh, right. Rosestar is our leader.'' Cougarkit explained. ''Do you want to join us?''
