Chapter One- Mistakes
Sex. It ruined her life. All she wanted was a good time. But she didn't have to sleep with him. There were so many other people she could have slept with. But she had to chose the boy I was in love with. She had to have Evan. Everyone had to have Evan. Everyone but me. That was the last night I'd spoken to the whore. It goes by the name of Stacy. She's currently a sophmore at my school, and six months pregnant with Evan's baby. And that is now my least favorite name.
I woke up in a cold sweat. "Damn," I muttered. I was so damn tired of waking up in the middle of the night for no reason. Well of course there was a reason. My dreams.
They would only continue to get worse. In each dream Evan would appear for some reason, and I knew it was never to be with me.
I called Kendall like she asked me to do whenever I woke up from a bad dream. She got a call almost every night now.
She picked up on the third ring. "Hey Iris. What was this one about?"
I explained in vivid detail. I was trapped in a basement. There was no one around. I was starving. I'd been down there for who knows how long. I found a piece of glass and stabbed myself. First in the gutt, then in the heart hoping to end it quick. And then Evan unlocked the door from which he was keeping me hostage in his basement. He wanted me dead. And he succeeded.
By then end I was almost in tears. It all felt so real. They all do, but this one was different.
Kendall had nothing to say. There was dead silence over the phone and I knew I had made a mistake by telling her about this dream.
"That sounds... Scary. Try to go back to bed babe and maybe we'll both just forget about it in the morning. Night." And she hung up the phone.
Unlike Kendall though I could not sleep. My mind wondered about Evan. I could see his gorgeous brown hair. That adorable little curl it did at the ends. His hazel eyes always shone bright and his past girlfriends said they seemed even brighter in the dark, but I'd probably never get to find that out for myself. He was tall. Well he was 6'2" which was tall to my 5'9".
I'd only imagined wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling him down to kiss me too many times.
His lips were perfect. They weren't huge, but they weren't too small either. They were just... Perfect. I can't find any other way to describe them. His skin was tan even though he was naturally white.
I'd known Evan for a few years and he was one of my best friends. Which was why it was only harder on me when Stacy had slept with him. I had to act like I didn't care around him. When really I could always feel my heart break.
But I know it's just broken. And I wish I'd saved a piece for myself to keep. But I didn't. My broken heart was not mine to give. Because I no longer owned my heart. Evan held it captive without even knowing and everytime it tried to break free he'd get a harder grip on it. I had no hope of getting my heart back anymore.
Suddenly my phone vibrated next to me and I sprang off my bed. It was a text from Zach. "Are you with Anna?" I read aloud. It was almost three o'clock in the morning on a Tuesday night why the hell would I be with Anna?
Instead of saying all of that I simply responded,"No."
His responce was instent." Well Evan and Brandon are here. Come find us."
I knew it was crazy. But I wasn't going back to sleep and getting to see Evan would help get rid of some of the fear in my heart from the dream.
I knew Evan would never hurt me. He cared about me somewhat.
I threw on my black skinny jeans and purple hoodie. I tried to take my blonde curls but gave up and just put it up in a high ponytail. I knew I had to have looked "super attractive" but it was three in the morning and it was dark outside anyways!
I climbed out of my window and then took my phone to call Zach.
"Where are you guys?" I asked.
"Around Evan's house. Do you know where that is?" Of course I knew where that was. It was about a ten minute walk from my house, but it would be worth it.
"Yeah. I'll be there as soon as I can." I hung up the phone and started to run.
The streets were empty. I loved being outside late. The stars were always brightest when everyone was sleeping. It was late October and the cold stung my cheeks. But it didn't bother me too much.
As soon as I got near Evan's house I slowed to a walk. I pulled out my phone and saw I had a text from Evan.
"I see you(; " I smiled. Just being close to him made my heart race.
The boys emerged from behind a house. The first one I saw was Zach. His short blonde hair was spiked up to make him seem taller than he actually was. He wore bright red skinny jeans with a cool blue Aeropostale sweatshirt. His Nike shoes kind of threw off his look though.
Next I saw Brandon. He flipped his pale brown hair when his eyes met mine. Brandon had always liked me. Not enough to do anything about his feelings though. He got a new girlfriend every other week and hasn't the slightest clue what love was. He sagged his baby blue basketball shorts and wore a white sweatshirt that hugged him. His blue and black Vans were old, but he didn't care the slightest.
And then I saw Evan. He stumbled out of the shadows ruining the badass feeling Zach and Brandon were trying to set up. His grey basketball shorts matched his white and grey stripped shirt well, but no matter what he wore I'd always think he looked amazing.
Suddenly a forth figure emerged. He had dark, black hair. It shaped his face well and almost hid his warm brown eyes. His dark hair made his white skin stand out more than it should have. He wore black jeans and a white v neck. He felt... Dangerous.
Suddenly the four were standing in front of me. "Hi, I'm Connor," the stranger said.
