Now, Izuku wouldn't call himself much of a festive person. Growing up quirkless found him with practically no Christmas gifts. Only Auntie Mitsuki would give him a small gift, and even then it was always bad.
Things have changed though, Izuku's life has gotten better. But that doesn't stop him from following through with his Christmas traditions.
You see, Izuku never was never able to get a job. He had to make money somehow. He had been collecting money for a situation in which he needed to run away. In the end, he used all the money while surviving his ten month endeavor. (making it into U.A)
Christmas was always the perfect time of the year to make money! People would buy anything as long as their child wanted it.
So, you may be wondering what Izuku's Christmas tradition is.
Well, to put it simply, he steals Christmas trees every year.
The thing is, the police have been looking for the culprit ever since he started this back when he was six. Every year the news channels would play breaking news of the Christmas Tree Bandit, wishing for them to return the trees.
Obviously, Izuku never did that. If he did, he would have probably died before making it to U.A. But this year it was going to be hard. Having two pro heroes as parents makes it quite challenging to smuggle trees into their house.
So, Izuku did the only logical thing... He rented out an apartment purely for the stolen Christmas trees.
Izuku smiled as he waved his parents goodbye, telling them a lie that he was going to meet up with Hitoshi and Mei.
Izuku knew the dangers of his tradition. He couldn't risk being seen by his friends as the Christmas Tree Bandit. It would surely ruin his chances at becoming a hero.
Izuku laughed to himself as he neared the first Christmas tree farm. Putting on his Grinch costume. (The Grinch who stole Christmas) It worked well because of his green hair. That and the fact no one would suspect the quirkless kid.
Izuku headed over to the fence. Jumping up, he started to climb. But they still hadn't learnt. This was one of his regular tree stealing spots but they hadn't even tried to upgrade their security! It was kinda stupid if Izuku could still get into the tree farm.
Izuku sighed as he made it to the other side of the fence. Reaching to the bag on his back, he started to chop down some trees. Another thing about the farms he visits is that it is way too easy to get the trees out of the farm.
Izuku got to his meet up spot and called his transporter that was currently going by the name Dabi. He was always willing to help Izuku if he got at least a little bit of the profit.
"Hey green bean!" Dabi said as he rolled up in his car.
"Dabi! I got the good trees! >:)" Izuku responded with a hidden grin.
"I still don't know how you can say emojis out loud."
Dabi shook his head in amusement before helping load some trees into the car. Dabi was like the big brother Izuku never had. He didn't care that he was quirkless and he doesn't care that he's a child.
"So..." Dabi started. "You're still doing this despite being in the hero course?"
"Yea, it's like my Christmas tradition! I've been doing this ever since I was little and it just won't feel right if I stop."
"Whatever suits you kid. Just make sure you don't get caught.... And I know you would probably know exactly how to get out of jail but I don't want you to risk it."
"Thank you, Dabi."
Izuku gave him a small smile as he took off his mask.
"Any time, kid."
Soon enough, they were at the rented apartment for their trees. It was in a pretty run down area so the cost wasn't that high and heroes would be less likely to see them. Izuku was pretty well known as 'The Grinch' in the underground. All the villains would come to him for Christmas trees as they didn't want to risk getting caught.
Now, all he had to do was wait for his first customer.
After about five minutes he got a knock on the door. Smiling to himself, he walked over to the door.
"Welcome!" He said as he was met with the face of Kurogiri, one of his yearly customers. "Would you like the usual sized tree? Or would you like a different one?"
"Well," Kurogiri started. "This year we have gotten a bigger base so I would say a bigger tree."
Izuku walked him over to the bigger trees before Kurogiri decided on the perfect tree.
"That will be 7,000 yen, Kurogiri!" (90 aud, 67 usd)
Kurogiri happily paid and teleported away with his Christmas tree.
He got many customers after that, each thanking him and wishing him a merry Christmas. By the end of the day he made a grand total of 77,215 yen. (990 aud, 739 usd)
Smiling to himself, he left towards his home.
Now, Izuku thought to himself. Time to try and survive the Aizawa-Yamada traditions.
Izuku could tell that this was going to be the best Christmas ever.
Listen, I don't even know how I ended up with this idea for a Christmas special, it just happened lol
