I could use a break from the Salvatores, so I texted Bonnie, Caroline and Elena and asked if we should do something after school. We quickly decided on doing a baking competition at Elena's place and have Jeremy and Jenna be the judges.

"I'm gonna bake chocolate muffins," I said with a smile and grabbed a bowl from one of the cabinets in Elena's kitchen.

"I'm terrible at cooking, but I'll give cookies a go." Elena said and started mixing her dough.

"I'll make my Gram's famous lemon cake," Bonnie smiled.

"I don't know what I should bake," Caroline pouted.

"Cupcakes?" I suggested. I loved Caroline's cupcakes. She usually baked them all the time. She smiled and nodded a little.

"Where was Stefan today? I didn't see him in school. Matt said he wasn't even there." Elena asked and glanced at me.

"No, uh... Him and Damon had a fight yesterday and Stefan hit his head so he's resting today. He's a bit of a slow healer, you know."

"Yeah. Well is he gonna be okay?" She asked. I nodded.

"He is okay. He just had a big headache this morning, that's all."

Elena nodded reluctantly and continued baking her cookies. I mixed everything I needed for my muffins. They were triple chocolate, so I added both dark, milk and white chocolate.

My phone started ringing in my purse.

"Uh... Jer?! Could you please get my phone for me?" I asked. Jeremy, who was on the couch playing Xbox, went to grab my phone.

"It's Stefan," he said, accepted the call and put it on speakerphone.

"Hey Stef! You're on speakerphone!" I said.

"Luna, do you have some Tylenol or Aspirin laying around somewhere?" He asked sounding purely exhausted. The girls eyed each other nervously. Stefan wasn't supposed to be in need of medicines.

"I think we ran out actually. Why? What's happening?" I wiped off my hands and grabbed the phone. Put it off speakerphone again and held the phone to my ear.

"My head is killing me, Luna." He said, pain clear in his voice.

"Still?" I asked. "Sweetheart, it should have healed by now. What's happening?"

Stefan said that he didn't know. He was just in so much pain. I told him to come by Elena's house. He hung up after he told me that he was on his way. I quickly pulled out a chair for him.

"What's happening?" Caroline asked.

"He's doing worse," I mumbled. There was a knock on the door and I rushed to open it, seeing Stefan's pale, painfilled face. I let him in and guided him to the chair.

"Just take it easy while I take a look at your head," I said and started separating the hair at the back of his head to find the wound from yesterday. His hair was colored red with blood and it was sticky and almost dried out.

"Honey, there's so much blood in your hair. Elena, would you please give me a wet cloth?"

She did so and I gently tried to get most of the blood out of his hair. He winced in pain and tensed.

"I'm sorry." I apologized and finally found the wound. It wasn't even closed.

"The wound isn't even healed up yet. And it seems irritated." I said. "Care, can you see anything weird here?"

She come over and looked over my shoulder. When she couldn't find anything, she grabbed her phone and shone the flashlight at his wound.

"Hold on," she said and got closer. "Is that wood?"

I narrowed my eyes.

"It could be. The floor in the house is wood. He could have gotten a splinter."

"What's going on?" Jenna asked stepping into the kitchen and seeing Stefan.

"Stefan's got a splinter in the back of his head," I explained with a sigh. Jenna nodded and pulled out a pair of tweezers from the kitchen drawer. I held Stefan's head still gently while Jenna removed the splinter. Stefan didn't say anything, but pain was written on his face.

"Okay, let's get you to the couch so you can get some rest." Jenna said and guided Stefan there. She covered him up with a blanket and walked but to us.

"You girls just continue baking, but keep the volume down, okay?"

We nodded and started baking again, making some small talk in the meanwhile. We put the cakes in the oven and put something on the TV. I sat next to the sofa and combed his hair with my fingers. He was asleep already.

Bonnie won the baking contest according to Jenna and Jeremy, but I'd like to think that I did good. Afterwards I woke Stefan up to bring him home with me.
