A Chinese Lesson
我-me
你-you
您-you (used only for elders)
你好吗-how are you?
很好-I'm fine
好吃-delicious
Learn some other words yourself. In Chinese, Chinatown is actually called 牛车水. If directly translated, it means "cow car water". Doesn't make sense, right? Time to dig into history...
A long time ago, Chinatown did not have its own drinking water. Therefore, cow carts were used to pull water to Chinatown to be sold. Now it makes sense, right? But that's not all. Chinatown is made out of three streets, and they are different in their own ways. One of them used to house coolies from China. Another held performances. The last had loads of food and roadside shops.
Now it makes sense. Now for a whole different world- India.
