Iris's Pov:

“I see you have the virus.” She says looking down at my bloody hand with the bold number of 31 on the back of it. I hide it behind my back and stare up at her.

“Yeah, I kind of got it this morning…” I explain looking down at my feet. “You see, my brother just died of this virus this morning and-.”

“You mean Moriens?” She asks staring at me with her beady eyes that look like they haven’t slept in days.

“Yes whatever.” I say annoyed. “Anyway, umm, yeah, so I don’t know where to go…” I finished trailing off, I look up at her and she stares at me.

“Are you one of the elemental?” Some other person asked who was still staring at me like I was some alien or something. These people are starting to scare me.

“No, I don’t.” I said, but they didn’t believe me. “Forget it, I’ll go back up and leave you all alone.” I say jumping up and grabbing onto a root of a tree and climbing back up to earth’s crust. I stand up and dust myself off start to walk away. That was easier than I thought, but before I got far I ran into Earth elements.

I try to ignore them and walk passed them, but they spot me and start to come closer. There are five of them, one looks about nine and the others look way older, like my age. I smile to keep calm as they walk up to me.

“What are you doing here?” a boy asks me, he looks about sixteen with shaggy dark brown hair and green eyes. I couldn’t help but notice the ten on his hand as he comes closer.

“I was just trying to find my way to some shelter.” I explain truthfully as I clasp my hands behind my back and go from my toes to my heels and back again.

He eye balls me looking me up and down, noticing that I have no weapons, no food, and my clothes have torn from the fall into the underworld a couple minutes ago. I look at the nine year old and she mouths ‘Help me’ to me and I don’t do anything back, i couldn’t, they were all watching me. “Okay, well good luck with that.” He says and turns to his group. “Come on lets go.” And they start to walk away.

I turn and walk the other way, but as I get a good distance from the underworld hole i hear footsteps, then screaming, I turn to find myself being covered with a brown sack and carried away. I scream and try to punch the person, who is carrying me, but nothing works, I’ve wasted too much energy and soon enough I fall asleep in the dark bag.

I’m woke by being dumped on the dirty floor. I don’t know where I am, I don’t know what to do. I look up to see who dumped me on the floor, but no one’s there. I look around at where I am, but I can’t see anything. All of a sudden someone opens the door and walks in.

It was the same girl who I saw before in the underworld. “Looks like your back.” She says giving me an evil smile. “You people don’t get away that easily.”

They still didn’t believe that I wasn’t an elemental and that i wasn’t there to hurt them. But even once i explained in more than once, to a dozen people nothing worked. So they decided to put me through some tests and such. It hurt, a lot, but nothing happened. I was getting very annoyed of all of the things they were doing to me. Why couldn’t they have just believed me and forgotten about it. Like really.

Well now I’m sitting in a room alone, waiting for someone to come tell me what i have to do. My only question is, why did that capture me in the first place? Some old man walks in and sees me sitting in this very uncomfortable chair. He looks at me, he gives me a dirty look and I quickly look away.

“You must be the little girl that I have heard of.” He says sitting down at his desk in front of me. “I’m the girl that was captured by my lovely earth elementals and who also fell down into the underworld earlier today.”

“I’m not little, I’m 16 thank you. And yes, I’m Iris Williamson.” I say not making eye contact, this guy is kind of scaring me. His white beard and white hair, his beady eyes staring into my soul, why does everyone look like they haven’t slept in days down here?

I look down at my feet as he looks at some papers on his desk, probably about me. I twilled my thumbs until he starts to speech. “You have powers do you?” he asks, that’s the like hundred person who has asked me that! I am getting fed up.

“No, I do not have powers.” I said to him looking up but not making eye contact.

“Well it seems you do, sweetheart.” He says trying to make me feel better. “It seems you don’t have your powers yet, but soon will.” He’s acting like it’s no big deal. I know with these people, the ones that have the virus, I know this means I’m probably going to get locked up. I didn’t do anything wrong. “But since we don’t want you going on a rampage killing all my precious elementals, we are going to lock you up until those powers come.” He says giving me a evil smile as he calls in a bodyguard.

“Can you come with me please Iris?” Some bodyguard person said to me and grabbed me by the arm and pulled out of the room into a dark hallway. I had no clue where I was going, only because I couldn’t see anything, it was that dark. He pulled me along to this dark room with only a car in it. He sits me down in the chair and tells me to stay there until someone comes to get me. He laughs an evil laugh and then closes the door as he locks it.

I look around the room, worried about what could happen to me in here. There’s nothing in here, no food, no bed, just a chair, walls and a door. No window either, but I don’t blame them for that because I don’t think it would make a difference because we are under ground.

I last 30 minutes until I start to freak out. It seems that I am claustrophobic and I hate small spaces so I start to hyperventilate and scream out in pain. The walls move closer to me as I try to push them away I can, I cry out again, but nothing happens. I start to freak out even more. Soon enough I pass out from lack of breath.
