Shuichi stacked papers neatly on his desk as he tilted his hat to his manager walking in the room. "Hello sir." The serious manager spoke. Shuichi looked up with his dark yellow eyes, shining in the direction of his manager. "Hello." The manager found the nearest chair and proceeded to take a seat. "Well then, Mr. Saihara. Are you ready for tonights mission?" Shuichi nodded in brief confidence, standing up. "I will do my best. You know how much of a challenge this enemy is." The manager nodded. "I'm aware. This particular opponent has caused us much trouble in the past." Shuichi walked over to the mini fridge in his office, and grabbed a drink. "You think we're prepared enough for this?" He asked, sitting down on his desk chair with his fresh, cold, soda. "I'm not entirely sure. I do believe that we have a good chance of defeating D.I.C.E, but I don't think it's very likely. Shuichi reluctantly nodded, not being a huge fan of those degrading words. "I understand." The detective stood up. "Well now. Why don't you go get prepared, Mr. Saihara? You do have a big night." Shuichi stood up as well. "Understood."
The manager left the room swiftly, leaving behind an intimidating yet motivational aura. Shuichi took a deep breath, one mixed with fear, yet an undying confidence that he knew he had to pursue if he wanted even the slightest chance of conquering Kokichi Ouma's evil organization. "Shit." He whispered to himself, taking off his shirt and tie. Once he was shirtless, he proceeded to remove his black dress pants, leaving him in only his undergarments. He walked over to the mirror in his office, and stared at his tall, skinny body. He thought to himself if he could really do this mission. He knew he had to have confidence, but he wasn't sure where to find the heated area to maintain the said confidence. Shuichi shook his head, then walked over to his detective uniform. Black, slightly grey striped pants with a black, slightly grey striped long sleeved, collared shirt. He slowly put on his pants. Then his white polo. Then his black striped coat. Then finally, he put on his hat with three stars on the striped sides. Once his outfit was all put together, Shuichi grabbed his briefcase, and hastily moved out of his office to his partners.
The manager stood in his stereotypical detective uniform, holding a clipboard stacked with papers. He put his pencil behind his ear and set the clipboard down. "Ah, Mr. Saihara, our greatest worker. We're almost ready to execute the plan." Shuichi nodded in a subtle agreement, knowing he had no other choice but to go through with the plan to take down D.I.C.E. One of Shuichi's partners, Kyoko Kirigiri, spoke softly, yet seriously, with determination in her voice. "We have been working on this plan for weeks. There is no way it will fail now. Do not fear, Mr. Saihara." She gave him a smile of courage, and somehow, Shuichi felt a bit more confidence and a bit more brave than he did before. The plan they had spent these past few weeks on went a little something like this; Kyoko would offer to make a bet with Kokichi, leaving them to play a game. While the manager distracted the other D.I.C.E members, Shuichi would be hiding behind Kokichi's chair. Once someone had won the game, and once Kokichi stood up, Shuichi would pull him down via a rope around his neck. After they had knocked him out, they would drag him to their base, and pry the answers out of them. The detective team did not know the chances of their highly specific plan working, but they knew what had to be done. The trio left the base, and walked in a single file over to the base of D.I.C.E.
The plan was about to take action, so everybody got in position. The manger went to battle it out with the other D.I.C.E members, while Kyoko and Kokichi played a card game to decide who gets fate. Shuichi hid behind Kokichi, paying attention to every word. Shuichi felt his heart thumping in his chest, like a raging fire that craved nothing but oxygen. He felt one of Kokichi's pant straps brush against his shoulders, causing him to shiver. Shuichi trembled softy in his spot. He did prepare all these weeks for this moment, so it was strange why he was so scared now. This was his job, of course. Shuichi looked up and saw Kokichi with a serious expression, sweating aggressively. "Argh! How are you winning against the supreme leader of evil?!" He shouted. Kyoko didn't answer. How could she be so unphased? She was dealing with someone who had managed to put this state into shambles, and so much more than just that. Kokichi was quite literally the supreme leader of evil, just like he always seemed to talk about. It must be fun being the villain, huh. Causing trouble, defeating everyone, it just seems so much more entertaining than the role of a stupid hero. A pointless being that's only recognized for doing the work no one else has ever been bothered to do to defend themselves. Shuichi never thought he'd hate being loved. But genuinely, he was tired of being praised like this. He wanted some fun in his life. Shuichi paused. No. He shook his head. He can't think like that. This is the job he was given and he has to do it.
"Ah! Ya beat me!"
Kokichi stood up with with his hands on his waist. Now, was Shuichi's turn. He shot up and whipped the rope around Kokichi's neck, choking him, but not to the point where Kokichi would be extremely harmed. "Ahhhhgh!-Ahhh..ahh..ah...hh.." Kokichi tried to breathe, but he was choked out. Shuichi took a breath as his heart settled down, and proceeded to gently remove the rope from Kokichi's neck. As he was doing this, his manager appeared from around the corner. "I took care of all those other members. They don't seem to be anywhere near as strong in power as Sir Ouma is." Kyoko closed her eyes and crossed her arms. "Ouma really isn't much. The guy claims to be so strong in power, but couldn't even win a card game." Shuichi slowly picked up Kokichi from the concrete, trying not to hurt him even more. He felt guilty for choking him out, but it was all part of the mission they had. He lifted Kokichi gently onto my back, so he could carry him to the base. The manager spoke with Kyoko, but Shuichi didn't want to participate in any sort of conversation. He just wanted to get back to the base to see if Kokichi was okay. Although, he did eavesdrop on some of the conversation. "I collected some of the items the other D.I.C.E members dropped. They carry knifes, lighter fluid, lighters, sticks, and mini checkered flags." Kyoko nodded. "It seems arson is one of their favorite types of minor crimes, and I assume those checkered flags are to mark the areas were they asserted their pathetic dominance." The manager nodded in agreement. "Is Mr. Saihara okay? He hasn't been speaking a lot since the mission started." Kyoko shrugged. "He doesn't talk much in the first place. It's probably nothing." Shuichi growled under his breath. It wasn't 'nothing.' What he wanted was to get back to the base, so he could see if Kokichi was okay. He didn't care about any of this mission stuff anymore, all he wanted was to make sure he didn't kill someone.
The trio swiftly stepped into the base, and Shuichi instantly found an opportunity to be alone with Kokichi. He pointed toward the basement door with a masked face of genuine interest. "I'm gonna go down to the basement and pry answers from Mr. Ouma." Kyoko and the manager nodded, and Shuichi carried Kokichi down into the basement. He softly set him on a chair where he let Kokichi rest, predicting that he should be waking up soon enough. While Kokichi rested, Shuichi dug the rope out of the crate so he could tie Kokichi down in case he tried to fight back. As he was getting his tools set up, he heard a voice from behind. "Huuh?" Shuichi turned around to see Kokichi's eyes flutter open in confusion. A smile spread across Kokichi's face. "Aww..I finally got caught..well, my fun is over." Shuichi rolled his eyes. "Yes, your fun is over. I'm just glad I didn't kill you." Kokichi smiled brightly at that. "Huuh? You care about me, Mr. Saihara?" Shuichi looked down. "Who said I cared about you? I just didn't want to accidentally kill you.." Kokichi frowned. "Aww.." Shuichi walked over to Kokichi with serious eyes. "Hold out your hands, Ouma." He said, undoing the rope. Kokichi frowned. "Aww man..you're planning on tying me up and roughing up my body, huh? That's why there's a matress here.." Shuichi took a quick step back. "S-Shut up, Ouma! You know you're only here so we get answers!" Kokichi looked disappointed. He got up off the chair and stretched. Shuichi ran over and knocked him over. "Stay down, Ouma!" Kokichi hit the concrete floor with a loud smack. "Agh!" Shuichi pointed a knife at Kokichi. Kokichi smirked and rolled aside. Shuichi turned around, but felt a slam on the back of his head. "Ah!"
He looked up and there he saw;
Kokichi Ouma, with an evil smile.
