Leggy Oneshots!

Late Nights

Peggy couldn't keep her eyes off the computer as she finished colouring the last details of the girl on her drawing tablets screen. She heard a movement and immediately her eyes flicked over to the clock on her desk

Lafayette was going kill her if he found out she was doing this at almost 4 in the morning, even if it was Saturday. Well, it's not like he could get mad at her, he constantly forgot to take breaks when he was playing video games, and she always had to drag him off his chair

At least he was better at hiding his sleepless nights. He woke up late and could act with the same energy as normal. Peggy couldn't. Maybe it was the fact that she went to bed late and got up early, but everyone would be pointing out her zombie-looking face and inability to keep her eyes open

It wasn't Peggy's fault she hated sleeping. The only part that was worth settling down for was cuddling, in her opinion. She didn't understand people who could take a nap anywhere and at anytime, even on their own. How could they drift off so effortlessly without the feeling of being held?

Peggy looked at the drawing. A girl in a yellow polka-dot dress, sitting next to a stream with a black cat on her lap and yellow ribbons in her brown hair stared back at her. She sat back, sighing. That was her second full picture that night, not counting the several unfinished ones she had tried to start, but couldn't get into enough. Peggy had that problem. Unless she thought it was good enough, had enough potential or liked the idea enough, it was near impossible for her to finish a drawing

She heard a noise from her and Lafayette's bedroom. The intro music to Minecraft

Her boyfriend wasn't having any luck at sleeping either

She smiled, humming along to the music quietly. Minecraft was her and Lafayette's favourite game to play together. They could spend hours making a house, or building a huge structure, just together. They'd laugh at Lafayette's moral dilemma everytime he had to kill a chicken, or Peggy's horrible counting skills. But they didn't. Work made it's way into their life. Lafayette, while hating his job as an accountant, somehow managed to brave the boredom, but never got enough done in time, so he was always home late or working from home, and between Peggy marking students work or preparing a lesson, they barely stayed awake long enough to turn on the game

'Maybe, since we're both up, we can play together' Peggy thought, she smiled at the thought. She saved her drawing, turned her tablet off, and left the spare room of the apartment where she had been working

When she came in, her boyfriend was punching down a tree with a stick
"Got an extra controller?" Lafayette turned to face her and frowned

"You should be asleep" He said
"So should you, but here we are" Peggy smiled "So? Can I play?"
"If you promise to come to bed once we're done then oui"
"Yes!" Peggy waddled over to her boyfriend and hugged him, she felt a kiss on her cheek
"Hurry up, its going to turn to night soon"

A few hours later

Morning light crept from underneath the blinds. Peggy noticed it first

"We should get to bed"
"Yeah.... S'pose so..." Lafayette's speach was slightly slurred from tiredness, which Peggy found adorable. She saved the game, much to her boyfriends disappointment

"C'mon Baguette-head, you need sleep" Peggy said quietly, before failing to stiffle a yawn. They both got up and made their way to the bed. Lafayette tried to pull his socks off, but gave in after 4 tries. They pulled the covers over them

"Cuddle?" Lafayette murmered
"If you want" Peggy smiled
"Big spoon or little spoon?" Lafayette asked
"Little, if thats ok with you"

They adjusted their positions so that they were both facing away from the window, Lafayette's arm around Peggy's waist, Peggy holding Lafayette's hand

It was comfortably warm in the bed, and soon, to the sound of Lafayette's steady breathing, a few cars passing on the road, and the last few noises of the computer, Peggy fell asleep

(May or may not have projected my desires to play minecraft with my partner and be little spoon when cuddling onto this story)
