Dianna's Jack

I'll stand on the corner of 35th and 8th;
And I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait.

Isn't it odd that we all see the same stars, sun and moon;
But, for the clouds, they're different for each and every view.
Laying with your back shaping the grass in mid-July;
Pointing to a cloud you think is shaped like a Christmas light.
Our imaginations are such magical things;
Casting spells in our heads; enchanting.
And that's exactly what Jack was for his wife;
A magical entity; who once resided in her mind.
Glitter and diamonds hold a heavy weight in her heart;
He is and always will be her favorite work of art.
Torn, stained and slightly discolored;
Swimming in a story, a history of today, older.

A tale as old as time trickles through generations like sand through your fingers;
Love is cherished as a meaningful wrinkle.
His kindness lingers;
In her remembrance, he is always intermingled.
Like a knot you never will undo;
Like a film that ends far too soon.
Before the action starts;
Before the clock stops.
Forever is a long time to be alone;
But she can still feel him in her bones.
Like a fireplace lit during Christmastime;
Jack is alive, Jack is alive.

He was Dianna's Jack,
And there's no denying that.
Tailor made to suit her needs;
A hero protecting the streets.
In failing at life he won in love;
He is the purest of the doves.
Flying above the clouds;
With his head held proud.
As she gazes up every now and then;
A smile, a tear; the products of remembrance.

I'll stand on the corner of 35th and 8th;
And I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait.
